All the Repu/Dems in congress fail to see that the rich ruling elite, especially of the FIRE sector, are a threat to the survival of the human race. I want to see progressives who know that capitalism is a failed system. When Democrats or something new and different offers a real choice, I'll wholeheartedly support them. I'm sick of voting for Dems because they are the lesser of evils. I want to see more good in them. Sanders and Warren are the best of them but aren't taken seriously by most of them. Wake up and see the enemy, the rich, whose stupidity and greed threaten life on Earth.

The enemy hasn't changed since the beginning of civilization, for which the fall from Eden is a metaphor.

''The text of the TPP has finally been released to the public ---- and it is even worse than we thought it would be. Here are the details - which you probably won't see on any corporate media'' from this video:

I get what you say in your forum-post and so refer you to bw's comment - linked above. Sanders would be well advised to speak to & try to recruit people like Dennis Kucinich and Cynthia McKinney, as well as Elizabeth Warren, to an explicitly 99% cause. He doesn't take money from PACs and just relies on small donations - so needs the widest base he can muster. His on-line campaigning is second to none and was seeded by several people previously active with OWS & still seeding memes for 4+ years now.

Bernie Sanders has strengths and weaknesses, just like anyone but his strengths far outweigh the weaknesses (mainly re. The US-MIC War Machine & Foreign Policy) from the p-o-v of The US 99%. Senator Sanders doesn't have to pretend to be anything he's not, as he's been patiently & diligently singing his tune for 30+ years and so he doesn't have to remember what he has to say. This is why Corporate Dems and the co-opted Corporate Co-opted DNC have started soiling their underwear, as Thom Hartmann explains in the first part of this excellent, recent episode of ''The Big Picture'' show:

The'Heist' link above has significant cameos from Sanders & Warren & refs.the 'Powell Memo', maybe The Most Significant anti-99% document in history! http://reclaimdemocracy.org/powell_memo_lewis/

"It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." - Mark 10:25.

"With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God." - Mark 10:27.

Pray for quantum tunnelling.

vanishingly small probabilities

Similar small probabilities exist for an electron to cross a copper oxide layer to allow you and me to communicate via the internet. There may be very few ways to change the probabilities aside from increasing the voltage but growing the number of electrons can still make enough of them get through. Expected number of success = Number of trials X Probability of success. Create enough rich people or make them be aware and you may have success.

To be rich, I'd say, one must have at least 100 times the average positive net worth. So if 1% of the population are rich, there's nothing left for the 99% but debt slavery. I guess that's why were here. The odds are not in our favor. The probabilities predict that 99% of us can never win.

P.S. computing and the internet may employ some tunnel diodes but most of the technology that's developed since Shockley operates at predictably high probabilities, even if such are created electronically.

Richness does not have to require great positive net worth. Life is not just about winning or losing. If one expands the definition of self enough, one can avoid losing. Often even a short-term loss leads to a long-term gain in a kind of unwilling investment.

pffffttt!!!

I imagine that one of our great ancient ancestors was chewing on a persimmon and dropped it inadvertently into the sand and said, "pffffttt!" Later on, upon returning to the same site, there were more persimmons! Being an unnamed devotee of René Descartes, the ancestor discovered agriculture...

Cogito ergo sum - René Descartes. Observe and think! An observant mind sprouts riches.

Are the average voters the enemy?

It is, after all, them who continue to put the fascists into power.

This is corporatism, not capitalism. If this was capitalism the banks would be folded and community banks would be thriving, big oil would be replaced by solar in a second with electric cars right behind them.

Monsanto would be history without their subsidies and government backing, as the farmers all hate them and the majority of the people do too.

We DO have a serious problem with education in this country though, as the desires you stated above are shared by many, but the ability to put anything together is lost on us. This from a massive overtaking of the educational system by said corporatists, who would rather purchase new Ipads for all than give teachers a raise.

Corporatism, what a bitch. Edison fucked us out of Tesla's incredible breakthroughs a long time ago. Its probably been the same story since. Just look at how few car manufacturers we have. Its certainly not a competitive marketplace, its a government/private racket.

Any ism requires that people stay awake. We are sound asleep at the wheel still. At least when you allow innovators to innovate you might get something regardless of the general population's desire to join in or not.
