This is the moment to make a show of turning to homeless shelters because you got kicked out of a park and call attention to this specific societal issue: the bottom 1%, our failure regarding chemical addictions, and our neglect of the mentally ill.
When you got thrown out of the park, so did the homeless who were with you. I hope you include them in your next plans.
This is a terrible idea - people who aren't involved in the protest really need those resources. In fact, it would be way better to set up a guerrilla homeless shelter (if you can get the tents for it) and slightly repurpose the occupation to include the homeless that existing shelters can't cover. Obviously that was happening already unofficially, but housing and space for the house-less should be a central issue. There's precedent for relevant activism on those lines in the 90s, when squatters faced off with the NYPD for rights to abandoned buildings.
Gandhi did a hunger strike a few times. In NYC that might work as a peaceful protest tactic.
