Forum Post: The Arctic may be ice free THIS year! (maybe not quite)

This year we have had an unprecedented rise in CO2 levels. We have likely seen the last time CO2 will ever be below 400 ppm at the bottom of last years dip. In An Inconvenient Truth Al Gore said hitting 400 at all would be a big deal.

In 2012 the ice coverage fell to below 4 million square kilometers for the first time in at least 800,000 years as best we can tell and since we've had satellites for sure.

Does this mean Santa Claus will drown this year? That's very sad!
