- The only thing more powerful than the banking lobby is the people, because the only thing more important than money to our politicians is being reelected.
The message our politicians must hear is that if you vote with the people, you won't need the banker's money, and if you vote with the bankers, there's not enough money in the world to get you reelected.
- The pressure must be placed on the members of the House of Representatives, because they must run for reelection every two years. The Founding Fathers designed it that way so that they would always be more responsive to the wants and needs of the people.
The House is also where the power lies, only they can overturn a Presidential Veto.
- Calling, writing and emailing your elected representative in the U.S. House of Representatives WORKS! Even 20, 30 or 50 emails on the same topic received by your representative makes an big impression.
Why? Because people rarely ever do it. In fact, most people go through their entire life and NEVER do it. If 100 send an email on the same topic to the same congressional representative, things happen.

I agree. There should be a master list of the representatives emails, so that people can easily find their rep, and email them instantly. The simpler you make it, the more people will do it.
Helpful, positive post... thank you.
Problem is that many of the politicians WANT the bankers money. And I don't buy that people won't reelect politicians who accept banker's money. Barney Frank and Chris Dodd were 2 politicians who remained in office even after being involved in financial scandals/controversy. And as per contacting legislators, THE most effective method is going in person to your Congressperson's LOCAL office. You then represent a vote. If you write, write to the local office because many letters which go to D.C. don't get through owing to security screening and other reasons. Faxing is better than an email They are overwhelmed with emails. Again, email the local office if you must. All politics is local as Tip O'Neill once said.
I don't think so.... The intent is good but I'm not sure it works. Please watch this video, it expains why this can't really affect true progress: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNRVRbpJMP0
Here are some things that we can do instead that would be more helpful: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXdmNFNqaQc
