We just watched the video posted by RicoSuave about how restrained the Oakland Police appear to have been. Here is the link again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-ISXqzg99s They are doing a good job in a tough situation.
Too bad about the Scott Olsen incident. Maybe the police screwed up there. But the conflicts with the police will not move our movement forward. Until we take it to the White House and Congress, we're not going to get anything. The White House and Congress will respond if our occupation armies take over D.C. Non-violent take-over. The White House and Congress can control the police. And they can control the corporations. But right now, the White House and Congress sit back and use our protests as a tool to bolster their positions.

Just like in Rome, a small band of trouble makers ends up making the trouble.

big group of around 40 people started to chant, "Don't Throw Shit! Don't Throw Shit!"

the group was divided into two groups: the largely peaceful, and a small, visible, determined group of agitators.

Its possible man but the Oakland police are not known for being nice guys to begin with. They know how to handle people they do it every day. They had to know innocent people would get hurt when they used those tactic's. Throwing a flash grenade directly into a small crowd was stupid
