Forum Post: Terminate Uneployment Beneifts of Protestors!

We need to compile a list of all the protestors who are currently collecting unemployment benefits and terminate their benefits immediately! If they want to complain about the state of the economy and their elected officials, Wall Street etc., they should not be allowed to USE U.S. Tax Dollars to support their cause! They want Wall Street out of Washington, we want Washington out of the Protestors Pockets!

No one lives large on unemployment benefits, so I'll never understand the logic that claims people collecting them need to shut up and be grateful.

What do you know about the unemployment status of the people on the street involved in this? I've been down a few times and the people I talk to have a job. Many are students. From middle class families. Struggling and looking at the trends and recognizing it's neither right nor sustainable.

Here's a news flash - we're all tax payers. Sales tax, federal and state Income, Social Security, Medicare, property.. some of us just pay more than others, and a few are far better off.

Perhaps we should go back to the Tea Party protests and compile a list of those who should be ineligible for Medicare or Social Security, unemployment or federal assistance?

All of you whining to end their benefits are ridiculous! I work 3 jobs to pay my bills and take care of my family! I would gladly pay their benefits out of my taxes, to ensure that I don't have to work 3 jobs for the rest of my life just to make ends meet! Minimum wage is a joke, cost of living is out of control, and all those that are able to fight for our rights and justice I will support 100%!

I am a volunteer fire fighter and I can honestly say that I agree with suspending the unemployment benefits of anyone who wants to fight the government. It makes no sense to pay the people to fight the very government that is sustaining their day to day lives.

Yes please terminate the benefits. I am retired and still working and paying taxes and there is no reason these young people can't carry their end of the bargain. They just don't want to work and support the older generation. They want handouts and a freebie lifestyle.

I agree, we should terminate their unemployment benefits, their wellfare benefits, their foodstamps and every other source of government/social assistance they are recieving. The taxpayers should not have to foot the bill for lazy people who don't want to work.

What about the $1.4 trillion dollars in foreign earned income by US companies that is untaxed, that doesn't seem to phase you, does it? Maybe their corporate charters should be revoked? If you don't pay into the system, you shouldn't accrue benefits, right?

Suspend the Constitutional rights of the unemployed? Brilliant, dr. evil!

I think that is way too nice for these protestors. Hey, OWS people, right now I can fly 100 people to North Korea because I have done so well. That way you can leave this place you hate so much.

[-] 1 points by vtwin (4) 13 years ago

I not the “place we hate” it’s you.

So, you wanna go?

Why is the GE CEO on the Board of Job creation in the US? He pays 0 taxes and shipped all jobs to china.. Obama must go

[-] 1 points by pissedoffconstructionworker (602) 13 years ago

I have a very-well paying job, and if you terminate their benefits, I'm just going to step up my personal contributions in order to keep them out there, in your face, occupying wall street every god damned day of the week.

isn't that how our society should be? people helping those in their community who are going through rough times and not expecting a hand out from the government?

What the hell are you flappin about?! Exxon,GE and Bank of America don't even pay taxes and they spread their filth and lies all through out "the peoples" government and you don't want citizens to not speak against Corporations and penalize them if they do?

You are very lost my friend and I hope you find the truth before the truth breaks down your door and takes away your liberty and free speech.

Thank you for finally naming a specific problem! I have been searching these forums and asking around for a while now!! It's great to finally understand at least a little of the protest!

[-] 1 points by bleedingsoul (134) from Youngstown, OH 13 years ago

That makes about as much sense as me asking to getting paid for protesting since my unempolyment ran out. Unemployment Benefits are owed to those people who paid into it from taxed wages. Study Economics 101!

Seriously? Protesters in the pockets of Washington, if only.

We are all tax payers here - you on the other hand appear to be complicit.
