tea partiers only want to empower israel more than they already are.
We really don't have much in common. Polls show most Tea attendees are republican or libertarian w/ few democrats.
Vice-versa most Occupy attendees are democrat or socialist or green w/ few republicans.
They have very little overlap.
There is much overlap actually in the views as to what is being wrongly done with our money. Both groups are against bailouts and corporatism.
The largest difference is average age which does color a lot of things like perspective on the best ways to protest and other things.
I am in between age ranges and have attended OWS events and Tea Parties.
Much more in common than members of either group wish to admit. Sad that because uniting is likely the only way to gain a large enough voice to make real change.
Well I don't support a government-run health system like most OWS people do. Unless: (a) it's done at the State level so it can be close to the people & held accountable, like how Massachusetts did it, or (b) an amendment is created to give Congress the power, per the requirements of the constitution.
Why? Because I've seen how Congressional interference has messed-up passenger rail (Amsucks), mail delivery (nearly bankrupt), and K-12 education (No Child Learnin' Anything). I don't want to see them do the same with my hospital care. Keep Congress far, far away.
Well see the Tea Party supports that kind of understanding of the risks of concentrating power and how one size for all policies fail as well.
There is lots of good ground to talk about. Don't let the media paint pictures of this group on others minds but don't let them pain pictures of other groups on yours!
