Can people really think about contacting members of the Tea Party about coming for common interests? There are people who within in the Tea Party movement with gripes against Wallstreet receiving a bailout for failing horribly in their job of making exorbant amounts of capital. They have also expressed anger at the influence of banks and other monied interests on politics. This debate about Wallstreet does not have to be about social spending or taxation. Important topics though.
I'm not talking about Koch brother lackeys they've hired to lead Tea Party Express events. I'm talking about members and sympathizers.
Please think about looking up and contacting local Tea Parties and seeing how they respond. I have written to my local Tea Party groups maybe if more and more people do we can find common ground.
Populism swings both ways.
What you're talking about, OP, is a coalition of like minded people with the same goal on any given issue. It's a great idea. There are un-hijacked tea parties out there, but which are which is another matter. There's a tea party group in Arkansas, for instance, who is devoted to health freedom, fighting big pharma, protecting our rights to natural healing and supplements, etc. It's local groups like that that are independent of the neocon hijackers.
Th original tea party movement was about ending the wars, stopping foreign intervention, and ending the Fed.
I know one thing, there's practically nobody on this forum that knows where the tea party came from. It wasn't the Koch Bros. I've told to that to the spammer, Liann, but there are people who do NOT want to see any coming together of Americans. They are here to divide and conquer and destroy the movement against the banks.
Only united do we stand a chance. End the hate and find common ground!
I couldn't agree more! http://occupywallst.org/forum/tea-party-occupy-wall-street-unstoppable-force/
They can read, let them come to us. We shouldn't beg them.
Beg them? They are getting their information from Fox News and talk radio. I wasn't encouraging any spokes-councils of contacting them about a partnership agreement. Just a suggestion to privately contact them or members with info they might be interested in.
I had this same idea last night. In theory, it seems like a good idea. Find a common interest and collectively pressure Congress to act against the interests of Wall Street and in favor of the average American.
HOWEVER, the more I think about it, the less practical I think the idea might be. What I overlooked in my first analysis was that many folks in the Tea Party simply believe in one central principle: "Oppose liberals and all they support."
To many on their side of the fence, this is a cultural issue. They have a very real and genuine animosity against "us." They've been led to believe (via Rush, Hannity, et al.) that all our nation's woes are the fault of liberals, and that if it weren't for those pot-smoking, birkenstock-wearing, arugula-eating, politically correct liberals, everything would be fine and dandy.
But things are obviously not fine and dandy. And they know who to blame.
Us.
So, while I like the idea in theory, I'm just not sure if it is practical to reach most of the Tea Party crowd. Some, yes. But I think the majority would - in principle - be opposed to any sort of unity with any movement that is even remotely liberal.
Very true I agree completely and i don't think Occupy Wallstreet is dependent on them joining, but I still think any reaching out wouldn't be bad and might even hasten some type of action against Wallstreet, banks etc.
will they bring the guns, confederate flags, and racist posters of Obama with bones in his nose, if so they are welcome to watch from the comfort of their own couch!
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... Point taken that you think the Tea Party are racist rednecks. Just don't stereotype them
not stereotyping, I think the good one's abandoned them long ago and are probably already in this movement
No doubt some are here participating. Others are watching. I am confident that there is a significant number of the people who believed in the tea party in the begining. Then it was obvious it turned into something else. Now look here...You know how the press is portraying this right? Well does it not look similar to how the tea party was treated? I hope most people can see that. Same tactics..different direction.
Well... Turn on any talk radio show in any city and you will here an explanation of how Occupy Wallstreet is 1) a street party of immoral criminal naked hippies doing drugs and being lazy 2) dedicated crowds of Marxist revolutionaries financially supported by George Soros and Hollywood who want a Obama controlled economy.
Alot of people on the other side of the isle that have many gripes against banks, wallstreet, the finance industry, plutocracy, etc. think Occupy Wallstreet is a single sided protest for increased taxes and gov't handouts.
Exactly. Many more people will come to your side when you are proactive (for “new” Business & Government solutions), instead of reactive (against “old” Business & Government solutions), which is why what we most immediately need is a comprehensive “new” strategy that implements all our various socioeconomic demands at the same time, regardless of party, and although I'm all in favor of taking down today's ineffective and inefficient Top 10% Management System of Business & Government, there's only one way to do it – by fighting bankers as bankers ourselves; that is, using a Focused Direct Democracy organized according to our current Occupations & Generations. Consequently, I have posted a 1-page Summary of the Strategically Weighted Policies, Organizational Operating Structures, and Tactical Investment Procedures necessary to do this at:

because we need 100,000 “support clicks” at AmericansElect.org to support a Presidential Candidate -- such as any given political opportunist you'd like to draft -- in support of the above bank-focused platform.
Most importantly, remember, as cited in the first link above, that as Bank Owner-Voters in your 1 of 48 "new" Business Investment Groups (or "new" Congressional Committees) you become the "new" Congress replacing the "old" Congress according to your current Occupation & Generation, called a Focused Direct Democracy.
Therefore, any Candidate (or Leader) therein, regardless of party, is a straw man, a puppet; it's the STRATEGY – the sequence of steps – that the people organize themselves under, in Military Internet Formation of their Individual Purchasing & Group Investment Power, that's important. In this, sequence is key.
Why? Because there are Natural Social Laws – in mathematical sequence – that are just like Natural Physical Laws, such as the Law of Gravity. You must follow those Natural Social Laws or the result will be Injustice, War, etc.
The FIRST step in Natural Social Law is to CONTROL the Banks as Bank Owner-Voters. If you do not, you will inevitably be UNJUSTLY EXPLOITED by the Top 10% Management Group of Business & Government who have a Legitimate Profit Motive, just like you, to do so.
Consequently, you have no choice but to become Candidates (or Leaders) yourselves as Bank Owner-Voters according to your current Occupation & Generation.
So please JOIN the 2nd link so we can make our support clicks at AmericansElect.org when called for, at exactly the right time, by an e-mail from that group, in support of the above the bank-focused platform in the 1st link. If so, then you will see and feel how your goals can be accomplished within the above strategy as a “new” Candidate (or Leader) of your Occupation & Generation.
I think I support somewhat what your saying... but that is a convoluted statement I can neither endorse or argue against..... Is that just a copy and paste from a book or manifesto?
That is a result of my own Business Analysis over the past 27years as a Marine, Certified Public Accountant, Computer Programmer, and Socioeconomic Analyst. Ao I hope that you'll join our group in the 2nd link cited so that we can further empower ourselves, for there are always long-term alternatives to short-term problems, if we know where to find each other, right?
Imma check it out.
Thanks, I hope you'll join the group in the 2nd link cited so that we can further empower ourselves, for there are always long-term alternatives to short-term problems, if we know where to find each other, right?
