Hahahahhahaha i love seeing occupiers embarrass themselves.
Yep, Tea Party, not part of the 99%. Neither are Jews, Republicans, Conservatives, so who counts as part of the 99%?
Jews count; skinheads belong occupying beds in their local emergency rooms, and the GOP establishment is no good for any of the things we want to do. The Tea Party started out with some of the right ideas, but instead of staying on track they got hijacked and wound up pushing for things like complete deregulation, privatization of things like Social Security and Medicare (that many of them in fact depend on to live), and the standard crap about gays and abortion being evil and evolution and climate change being crazy conspiracies to take away their freedom. Those members of the Tea Party that are willing to listen to us and go back to the real issues that led to the formation of the Tea Party are welcome with us.
So skinheads, most teapartiers or republicans are NOT part of the 99%. figures, just another slogan.
The whole 99% thing is a great rallying cry, but I don't think it was necessarily a wise choice because it opens us up to getting constantly pilloried for refusing to accept people who believe in patent nonsense (whether that nonsense comes from the left or from the right). Also, since when are you defending the damn skinheads?
I am not defending them at all, but just as you pointed out this movement claims to be for the 99% because 1% rules the country (world, universe). I do not support this movement, though I agree, in part, to some of what they are protesting. I believe that a) these are misguided people who think they know it all, and b) this is a 100% left wing movement that will not consider anything tht leans to the right.
For the past thirty years we've been encouraging corporations to cut American jobs and make things in China, slashing taxes on the rich, bloating the military budget beyond reason, taking the difference out of the social safety net, infringing on our constitutional rights with the Patriot Act, and most recently deciding that the Bill of Rights applies to corporations the same way it applies to you and I. All of that needs to stop, and we need to begin moving in the other direction. If that makes me a leftist, then so be it.
