Begins with you & me, on the local level. Just because we have no degree in political science, doesn't mean that you or I couldn't do a better job of listening to our communities and doing what is in the best interest of the people. So it's a popularity contest, ya gotta talk to alot of people. It is not only our right, but rather our responsibility to be pro-active about this. At least approach your local politicians and ask them the hard questions. Remember, every line on those ballets matters. Lazy & uninformed voters are alot of the problem. There are crooks on both sides of the tables!
That would be contingent on your own communities most urgent issues. That is why it is so important to talk to your local politicians if you're not willing to run for office. They need to be aware of their public's concerns in order to address them.
You need to explain exactly what is "doing what is in the best interest of the people."
