The 99% should start a new non profit bank. We could take our money out of the corrupt system and create a solid financial safety net that will protect us after the inevitable crash of the current system.
Non profit banks are called cooperatives.
If instead of supporting corporations we support cooperative we wouldn't be in this mess.
The dollar is too intertwined into the world economy to abandon. To do so would wreck havoc throughout the world. And there is no way Americans would embrace a new form of currency.
The issue is, the current system will collapse eventually. It is a profit based system dependent on continuous growth. In order to keep growing the economy needs and endless supply of resources, namely oil. It will fail eventually, sooner than later.
If the 99% got together and even threatened to start a massive nonprofit bank, then Wall Street would listen. That would destroy them. They would be scared shitless. We could gain control just simply be threatening to do so.
Yep! As a start Cripple Bank of America because they are such an easy target with contributing so heavily in the mess that got us all here!
Demonize JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs - they are so easy to demonize because of their inside game of market manipulations and government influence.
Pick of those three first and you will see a 99% revolution!
Resources, damnit :) Money is just an idea. Real resources are the genuine power. Why does everyone care about money? Because it gets you food, housing, information, entertainment, long-distance communication, transportation... These are the things we are controlled by, when they become centralized. Independent of the system that evolves from this, resources are the true power over people. How about creating a 99% resource bank? A network of resources that is decentralized, much like this movement is, making it impossible to topple from the top-down. Decentralization is exactly why terrorist groups are hard to eradicate - each cell is capable of being independent when cut off from the whole. Why aren't we learning from this to apply it in a positive way?
gasp You mean like a CREDIT UNION?
JFK was going to advocate abolishing the Federal Reserve Bank. He was two weeks away from giving that message to the people of this country when he met with an untimely demise. Jackie's response when it happened was "they got him". The "they" referred to was the power elite, who are also involved in running the Federal Reserve Bank.
The real question is to whom the right to issue money should be granted. The dollar itself consists of nothing but debt, issued by a private institution, the FED. Think about creating a new currency, by and from the people. That's a powerful weapon.
Watch the documentary 'The Money Masters' (it's on Google video)
Bwahahahaha....Yeah....ok....get that started up and see how it goes....
