Stop pissing in jugs and walking around and watering the ground. Stop shitting in bags and dropping it in the garbage cans. For a leaderless organization, you are destined to be rounded up and mobbed. Even Gypsies know how to live better than this. I know. I am one. But you moderate all constructive advice off your boards. You are about to freeze and sick yourself off the map. Michael. (Romany Gypsy - from the French Pyrenees)

If thats whats going on in NY, then oh well. Dont fool yourself into thinking thats what is happening in HOU, Dallas, San Fran, Chi, ATL. The movement is much bigger than that park in NY you know.

VERY true. And Minneapolis and Oakland and Nashville. That's where the true growth of the movement is. NYC grew too big too fast. And is enough of a dysfunctional mess to bring the whole thing down. Including racist comments on this board and lack of transparency of $$ donations.

I really really hope NY is not that. I mean, it had and still has the most symbolic potential I guess. But ohh well; you tube Houston end the fed rally. At the beginning it doesn't look like many people because the crowd was behind the camerca man. If you know of any vids from around other cities in the country please share.

There is a new Moderation policy finally addressing racism and the conspiracy junk and just weeding out the JUNK. Which is a start.

Good, very good. If I was there, im not going to lie, I'd just shout out anyone saying anything stupid. Report anyone walking about naked to police, stop someone from throwing things at the cops, and clean up when I saw people doing gross things. If someone was using the restroom in the park, i'd photograph it and report. I know this sounds mean, but im way to passionate about this movement to let some moron spoil it for all of us. But then again, we do all of that down here, but we don't have as many people to police either. Im sure their doing the best they can, and will get it worked out.

Too bad most movements are waiting for marching orders from NYC..

[-] 1 points by fishlegs (21) 13 years ago

No they aren't. They are forming their own assemblies and goals. Maybe in the beginning they were but not now. See Oakland. Completely independent of NYC and growing due to warmer weather!

I think Oakland is on the right track

Uhhh hell no. Here in houston were pretty much doing whatever the hell we want. I've been meeting with other major supporters and we have been deciding how, where and when we are going to protest, and what were going to protest about. Were creating our own flyers, deciding how we handle our protest. Like commiting to wear our work uniforms while we protest to debunk the "their all unemployed myth". The little things are very regional. The main goal is not. ENDING CORPORATE, AND MONEY CONTROL OF OUR GOVT. Everything falls under that goal. And I don't think you could possibly disagree that in our govt, money talks, your vote does not.

I was glad to see Oakland declare the strike, but havent seen too much initiative from anyone else the last month.

[-] 1 points by rehsa2194 (40) 13 years ago

Yea me too, I was glad to see that. But seriously things are going well all over, just because its not hit the news or isn't on youtube doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Were all working.

Check out the way the tea party is using a dog and its master playing tug-o-war with the US flag in San Diego. Considering how all that type thing is being used and you'll realize, its time to DEMAND that OWS develop effective strategy. Do it at home without compromising yourselves or the movement. Return to protest WHEN effective strategy is created.-----

I mean it. I appreciate every single protestors commitment here and I need you to be effective so make OWS be accountable for its lack of strategy that has ended up dividing OWS from so many other Americans that do support the premise.

Yea, I understand what you're saying, Im doing the best I can to focus those around me in HOU to simple, and very effective popular goals that you could get the majority of people to agree on. Plus they are the most official goals of OWS anyways, the goals of enacting campaign finance reform, and regulating lending, and financing practices; really some up our movement in the shortest words possible. We fix those two and the rest will follow through our established democracy and capitalism.

I've come to understand that the goals are excellent, the strategy for gaining the authority to meet them is almost completely absent. The most obvious thing to involve the majority in agreement should be the constitution because it has the authority. From what I've seen academia has sabotaged America by only teaching euro socialisim type politics and education into the ultimate democratic action of an Article 5 convention is not socially acceptable to engage. Then what I see as a governmental infiltration has sabotaged society by doing so much injustice under color of authority, our flag:( -
