Forum Post: symbol/logo/flag

I thought it would be nice if everyone had an easily recognizable symbol that they could display to show they support the movement. Especially so people who can't make it to occupations can put it on their cars, or wave a little flag, or put a little sign on their blog, or whatever, to show that they're behind this. Just for a little solidarity amongst a group that's kind of all over the place right now.

I know a lot of people have tried to pick symbols already. I saw a flag with 99 stars on reddit, but that's kind of a pain to make if you are making it yourself, and some people don't like the symbolism of effing with the US flag, and it's not really distinguishable from the regular flag from a distance. Some people were suggesting the "don't tread on me" flag but that flag has been co-opted to be Tea Party specific and I don't think we want to confuse anybody. The red is for, well, the obvious (people's revolution etc.) and it seems a lot of people are already using red (such as this site and a few others). There's the fist from the top of this site, holding a ring/ O. The 'O' is for "occupy" and the fist for it's normal connotation (power to the people etc.). And I thought the hand holding a ring would be reminiscent of "chasing the brass ring", & the idea being that we want people to be able to actually catch the ring, i.e. we would like to make sure the American dream isn't dead.

If you like it go ahead and spread it around and feel free use it for not-for-profit protest purposes. :)
