Each year the day after Black Friday is known my more and more people as “Small Business Saturday”.
It is a chance to get some holiday shopping done and support those smaller shops on Main Street that are just scraping by. You will find the experience more enjoyable than getting pepper sprayed going after the latest gadget from China.
GREAT Post. Break the chains! Buy local. Eat local. Sleep Local. Bank local. No need to wait until 2012 to vote. We vote with our dollars every day.
Yes, yes, yes.
And don't forget Cyber Monday. Avoid the crowds, fire up that Macbook and buy from your small niche ecommerce sellers!
Ebay, Amazon, Etsy, Bonanza and independent ecommerce shops.
Use Google product search to find what you need:

And before anyone points out that Google, Ebay and Amazon are "corporations" bla bla - yes, of course but the ecommerce business model that they've promoted has helped thousands of small third party sellers achieve financial independence.
They could actually be used as a model of "cooperative" work environments.
I'd rather be a risk taking small ecommerce seller than an unfortuante Walmart temp getting trampled by crazed, hypnotized Black Friday zombies.
