The park rules prohibit camping, lying on the ground and will be enforced starting tomorrow.
In the George Orwell (of 1984 fame) book, "Down and Out in Paris & London" where he talks about being homeless and destitute in those cities, he describes how the homeless were able to sleep in places they weren't able lay down.
Anchor thick ropes (use trees, weights, posts, etc) a few feet off the ground. People sit in chairs/benches, put their arms on the rope and rest their head on their arms. Basically, it's a passably comfortable way of sleeping while sitting.
This way people can continue to occupy Zucotti Park after Friday without breaking the rules.
I was waiting for the hammer to fall on this. Boston was the test. The PTB want this ended now , it was entertainment and an opportunity to take lots of pics for the security aparat for later use , but its over folks. :(
They are just park rules, they are not laws. If you break them you are not breaking laws, unless the owners tell you to leave for breaking them.
We need to act as responsible and respectful as we can. The world is now watching and if we act like disrespectful children, we will be seen as such.
Can someone please record these attempts and upload to youtube. I envision the lolz to be many.
Sneaky sneaky....
