Forum Post: Suggestion: Let's Stop Calling Them "Demands" And Call It a "Petition of Grievances"

The First Amendment says all citizens may "petition the Government for a redress of grievances." We should use this language to submit our demands for immediate change using the authority granted in the constitution. Most of us agree that we should try and preserve our constitution which can be amended once we get the corporations out of politics! For an action plan and a SAMPLE petition of grievances, go to

I am going to propose this document at the meetings of the General Assemblies this afternoon at Liberty and Broadway. Come and be heard!

"Government is instituted for the common good; for the protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness of the people; and not for the profit, honor, or private interest of any one man, family, or class of men; therefore, the people alone have an incontestible, unalienable, and indefeasible right to institute government; and to reform, alter, or totally change the same, when their protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness require it."

How about we put all our "grievances" together in one place, and resolve all of them with a Constitutionally voted-in revolution? http://www.JeffBlock2012.com

You have the goofiest of thinly developed ideas. 1. No borders, no debt, everything for free. 2. Protect american jobs, tariffs on imports, no security.

What gives?

Corporations are people. Your parents pensions own stock in these corporations. It seems that you expect the people in corporations to do something different than what you expect of yourself. You don't hire someone, just to give them a job (unless you can pay them with someone else's money. Yet, you expect corporations to do this. At the same time, you purchase the best priced car, toys, and tools; and then blame the corporations for trying to compete against rivals with lower costs. Why do you choose to ignore reality?

Actualworker, the country that you speak of where corporations were separate and distinct from government no longer exists, You are living in a fantasy world.

It is time to form a concrete action plan so that the momentum of this movement is preserved. To see an action plan to vote on and present a petition of grievances to the government and platform before the 2012 elections, please go to webpage below and repost if you agree. The platform and list of grievances is only a sample and the actual issues that would be voted upon and adopted by the shadow congress of 870 delegates elected from all 435 districts. This congress will convene on July 4, 2012 in Philadelphia. This plan will keep these issues in focus in the media over the winter:

Check in with your union supporters about putting an end to buying elections. president Obama has $1B stash of cash. Are you willing to stand up to the unions even as you eat the free pizza they provided for you?

I totally agree that is a fantastic suggestion. I also suggest that we simplify and move forward like we are playing chess. One move at a time. There are many fine suggestions outlining a foundation for specific demands including trade, tax and financial reform. But when you are to look at the Frank Dodd bill and recent attempts that the Obama administration has made to report dumping by the Chinese, we can see there are actually people in our government that do understand and share these concerns but their hands are tied when many in Congress vote based on their obligations to the 1%. The good decision makers with good ideas need our help too. Some are already in place. SUGGESTION: Simplify and make one FIRST demand clear. We need Campaign Finance to be eliminated totally. Start with our upcoming election. All political figures will be allowed one equal platform through the networks for discussing and debating their specific views on each issue. Added benefits include: • Greater breath of potential candidates as money and corporate support will not dictate who makes it to the platform.
• Pac funds will not allow the presentation of distorting ads that tear apart decent people with inaccuracies and falsehoods adding some reassurance to potential candidates willing to consider a run-maybe an Independent! • We need to elect the right candidates, to educate ourselves and then choose the candidates that reflect our beliefs. Education, research and knowledge on our part. It will take work to superintend. • The money saved by ridding the political system of lobbyist and campaign contributions will not be passed onto our goods and services that consumer's pay. Remember... EXXON Mobile executives certainly don't take a pay cut when they make campaign contributions. We actually pay for this.

The plan is great because it will keep the greedy corporate media focused on the movement over the winter while we organize and hold elections and then in July forget about it. They will go into a feeding frenzy while the congress meets and deliberates on the platform and petition of grievances, Anything to sell the corporations ads. Lets endorse this plan and eject 870 delegates to come up with a platform and petition of grievances before the 2012 election.
