OK, I have, this semester, been taking courses in US GOV and US History. In the process of this, I have been reading about ratifying amendments to the constitution. There is an alternative method (from congress) to getting this done. It involves calling State Conventions, and using 38 states to amend the constitution. I readily admit to being an amateur in all of this type of stuff, but I was watching Rachel Maddow tonight and the entirety of the idea I have been formulating was laid out for me here:

It has been said by many people that we need a goal to achieve. I would like to submit this to the General Assembly, to be our theme. I would like to submit this to the general assembly of #OWS, and I am going to also submit it to my local chapter as well. I think this would be the one thing that could gain a lot of traction. I cannot get to NY to put this before the assembly, and I know that we do not have "leaders" per se, but I would like for anyone who has a better understanding of politics to watch this video, and see if it is something that could be adopted into the mainline movement goals. Thank you!
Owp! I forgot part of what I wanted to post:
What? To incorporate, as a main theme of the Occupation, the goal of using the State Ratification process to amend the Constitution of the United States to the effect of limiting (not abolishing) the process by which corporations, and persons, finance congress and buy the votes to enact legislation allowing them to run roughshod over the people of these states.
How? I'm not sure how to do this, as we do not have leaders per se, and I do not know how to call attention to this proposal to the Nationwide Movement.
Why? To give the Nationwide Movement a coherent, obtainable goal.
If you are interested in history and government, please watch this video, the points made here are really eye-opening and I feel get to the root causes of some of our biggest problems:
