Forum Post: Strategy Council Recommended for Occupy Party & Occupy Wall Street;

As the momentum grows, the media has been trying to grasp a hold of a leader and theme.

The media has not yet been able to recognize the holistic nature of the movement’s and its main theme is the culmination of dissatisfaction, across diversified issues which compose the lives’ of the 99%.

As the movement grows, the greatest tool to strengthen the holistic nature and individual messages requires some type of organizational engine. With this each of the areas can be strengthen with unity while maintaining the holistic nature.

A recommendation is to organize a Strategy Council. The Strategy Council would be comprised of 12 members voted on by the Occupy Party & Occupy Wall Street movements, separate & together.

The Strategy Council would be divided into 4 main areas of most concern, with 3 members per each group. This could be polled via the Occupy Party & Occupy Wall Street web sites.

My recommendation from review of the sites and media interviews, of the protesters would be; Jobs Taxes (Corporate and Individual) Economics & Finance Reform (Wall Street, Stock Market, Banking) Congressional Ethics and Accountability Within each category;

1. Jobs-(3) Members a) Unions- (1)Representative b) Job Creation-(1)Representative c) Small Business Regulation hurdles-(1)Representative
2. Taxes- (3) Members a) Corporate Tax rate disparity, loop holes. b) Individual Income tax rate disparity c) Fair Tax rate regulation.
3. Economics and Finance Reform (Wall Street, Stock Market, Banking) a) Banking regulation reforms b) Stock Market reforms. (Hedge funds, mortgage derivatives etc...) c) Corporate entitlements.
4. Congressional Ethics and Accountability a) Lobbyists and their influence with Congress causing preferential treatment. b) Inability to conduct the country’s business representing the people versus their own self-serving power grabs. c) Represent the 99% vs. the 1%

The Preamble of the United States of America states:

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Key to this Preamble is the word Union. The Union of the People, or the 99%. 50 States with many diversities in religion, race, etc.. all holistically Unified to one cause, Equality.

Union is not a bad word and is one of the founding principles in our countries independence.

In essence the first sentence of The Declaration of Independence synopsizes the 99% need for “declaring the causes”, I believe is necessary.

“When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.”

*How Public Relations and Communications effectiveness, stating declared issues, will progressively bind and gain momentum, building a power base for changes.

The Strategy Council will be the communication figure heads, in regards to coordinated efforts among the separate groups.

The multiplicity of different figure heads, will allow for the clear holistic communication objectives to be realized. o Where media groups will seek the individual issue figure head to present the declared issue and as such each area can be focus upon by the expert, but relative to the whole More factual and expert related, rather than one person with multiple declared issues, limited time and no abilities to be expert in all areas. o Multiple speaking figure heads can cover more ground with media attention, furthering the cause across the country.

As the Occupy Party, Occupy Wall Street, 99% gain influence, and more support from organizations joining the cause objectives; o More professional organizations will want to join because of the effective communication, pursuant to their respective issue separately but also, as part of the union. o As more professional organizations join and give their support, inherently a power base is created for all the groups together.

As the power base is created and grows stronger, representing the Union of the groups, recognition will have to be acknowledged by the political representatives, and require them to address the issues with concrete solutions. The “Will of the People” will bring about the changes and should be the governing factor, not and the “Will of Government” being the driving force behind the United States of America.
