Sooner or later it is going to require strategy to achieve an objective no matter what the cause. At the end of the day, living in a democracy, it is only through political representation that laws are passed or changed. Politicians have an aversion to change. Perhaps it is because they are already beholden to vested interests and/or are not prepared to get off the gravy train they have created for themselves. But in the first instance the present politicians are the ones who control our lives whether we like it or not. Are all politicians corrupt? Probably not but who can tell? What do politicians of all persuasions, whether federal or local, fear most ? NOT BEING ELECTED !! Perhaps if the movement considered an agenda of not electing any current or past politician in any future election it may concentrate their minds on why they were put there in the first place. Oh I forgot....the big corporations with their unlimited funds (belonging to the shareholders) put them there. Unless the politicians are sent a message that is going to hurt their own interests they will do nothing until inevitably the protests fade away. I wonder if Herman Cain is getting so much support because he does not have a past political history. Well he does have a history it seems, but that is another matter. The protests have gone world wide and even her in New Zealand. But without an agenda the mainstream media by and large tend to ignore what is going on.Unfortunately they will only take an interest when they can see conflict on the horizon. Good luck to all those who are putting themselves on the front line for the 99%.
Hi, here's what people in the movement should be seriously considering. The Occupation is an excellent "shot across the bow" of the battleship TPTB but OWS has to get moving forward. Spring 2012 is coming soon... https://sites.google.com/site/the99percentdeclaration/?tmpl=%2Fsystem%2Fapp%2Ftemplates%2Fprint%2F&showPrintDialog=1
