I have been offshored 3x now earning over 100K. Let;s do something and go after the companies that offshore americn jobs overseas like PriceWaterhouse and Verizon.

Maybe reduce the corp tax rate applied to a company based on the percentage of its workforce that's in the us. The higher the percentage of us jobs, the lower the rate.

If the 99% are finally represented in Congress and elsewhere, they can put a stop to practices like this rather quickly.

Take a look at the money-out-of-politics Constitutional Amendment poll, and please add your ideas and feedback. http://occupywallst.org/forum/poll-what-do-you-want-in-a-money-out-of-politics-a/

Out-sourcing is not illegal!

The company I work for is a multi-national corporation, but I can tell you most of my company is outsourced to India, China and Romania. Ten years ago, out of the 3000 of employees we had, half used to be in the United States. Now as a company of 5000, our operational costs are the same but only 500 employees are in America.

My brother owns a web design company, to stay competitive with other companies, he outsources every job to India. He tried to employ Americans, but with the hours and amount of work, he couldn't keep up with his competition until he started outsourcing.

You can't stop the out-sourcing, but it should be regulated. Or steps should be taken to make American labor more worthwhile, like tax incentives to keep jobs in America to develop corporations (and jobs) on American soil. Right now all the laws benefit the other countries.

But what can you do? Our politicians have sold out. Republicans, Democrats, Bush, Obama, they are all the same. Capitalism at the expense of Democracy.

Something we could do about it is change the conditions such that offshoring is not as attractive an option. Not so much a matter of "going after them" as reversing the trend.

Is offshoring illegal?

[-] 1 points by BGardner007 (1) 13 years ago

It should be policied s to how often it is allowed. Not illegal but when you hear this country speak about how its such a great thing tell that to the 1000's of people and families I know being affected by it and now living on Unemployment. All this just so Partners and Executives can continue to get fatter bonuses and bigger paychecks.

How often should it be allowed? What happened when machines replaced a lot of workers? We could have banned machines.
