I am hearing we need a leader, we need an organization, we need a new government. I say, we need to stay focused on this topic - to end corporate corruption. This will naturally return the rights and voices to the people. This should be our focus and it does not require a new leader or organization or government.

We are tired of corporate abuse, of them funding campaigns with no limits. We are tired of them pushing their policies and placing their people in elected positions. We are tired of them putting greed ahead of our people, our nation and our world. We are tired of being the slaves to the 1%.

Politicians take note.... You are responsible to us (the people). We are the people of the land of the free and the home of the brave and we are taking back our country. We choose FREEDOM! It would be wise for you to get on board.

okay, the topic is ending corporate corruption. How do YOU propose to do this? What is your mechanism for ending corruption? If it's just shouting loudly that corporate corruption should end, who are you shouting at and how will they end corporate corruption? Please connect the dots for me:

The topic is ending corporate corruption........corporate corruption has ended.

The free market works just fine. If you dont like a corporation, just don't buy their stuff!

And when 5 corporations own everything....how does that work?

Please See http://occupywallst.org/forum/can-we-end-the-fed/

This isn't an attack on the rich. There is nothing wrong with being rich. There is a problem with being rich and stealing from the poor. There is a problem with few a people controlling the wealth, and to that end there is a problem when those who control the wealth are not helping their country and society progress.

'Taking back our country'? When was it 'our' country? What magical time period was this? Was this when black people were hanging from trees? Is this when women were dying in back alley abortions? Is this when children were working in coal mines? This country has never belonged to anyone except the rich and powerful-the capitalist class. Everything that has made it more democratic has been struggles of the labor movement, and the black and women's liberations movements. And you wonder why these political occupations have a hard time attracting more women and non-whites......

Suggestion on Politicians: How about we throw them overboard!

There are two goals that will make this possible, 1- The elimination of corporate bribes to government 2- Anti Trust legislation to break up the large corporations.

We should kick everyone out of D.C., hold a draft, then an election. Being a senator, for example, would be like jury duty for a specified time. We could bring in government experts from schools to help these people through the process. We just need to eliminate the corporate/government relationships that have formed over the years. In doing this, we could actually have a chance to fix many of the issues people are protesting due to the fact that there wouldn't be some politicians agenda getting in the way.

Agree but would broaden it to any special interest group including unions, religious orders, and fat cats with big wallets. Bribary is bribary whoever supplies the money.

[-] 1 points by aliyatrinity (26) from Broadford, VA 13 years ago

Yes, however, big wallets are not the problem. It is a lack of Integrity. How can you regulate that and do we really want to?

[-] 1 points by coolnyc (216) from Stone Ridge, NY 13 years ago

Same way you do in other situations where morals and integrity fail. You make it crime. You snatch an old ladies purse, you go to jail. You bribe a n elected official you go to jail. Any group or person with enough resources to bribe elected officials is potentially a problem.

What will our country look like when these two things happen?

How is restoring true one man one vote democracy and market competion going to change who we are as a country. These are fundemental principals of our government and economy.
