The FCC must act immediately to deny AT&T's takeover of T-Mobile! Wall street and corporate bigshots stand the most to gain -- and consumers the most to lose -- if AT&T is allowed to take over T-Mobile. It will be a boon for wallstreet but the end of competition for wireless phone service.

Not a monopoly. Please read the definition.

the term "monopoly" needs to be redefined though. That wireless contracts are all identically structured to screw the consumer with the only alternative being metroPCS i think makes it monopoly-like.

Also the regulations are very much in their favor. Why can't I buy the phone i want and use the service provider that i prefer with it? Why must they be linked? Also what is up with a two year contract with a phone I can't replace that has a one year warranty?

And because all of the wireless companies are like this, it leaves no where for the consumer to go to. And not having a cell phone is not a real solution.
