What can we bring? I have both but don't want to carry both.

It doesn't really matter. Get ready to stand. Bring a cardboard box to sleep inside and a bunch or large plastic bags in case of bad weather. Small plastic bags will also be necessary to keep electronics like phones and cameras dry.

Focus on your message. Focus on your signs. Focus on America.

We, America, sleeping on the streets of New York in hopes of change will be a message in itself. Sleeping bag vs. Tent rather irrelevant, though to avoid getting arrested I would focus on standing, walking, and sleep out in the open, so that every citizen who passes by will see your face, see your eyes, and understand the truth. Tent seems to be a clear way to an arrest, imho

Oh sorry. Why do the posters say "bring tent" ?

Originally that was the plan, until we found that having tents would make it illegal...I think.
