Why would our group turn down a real chance at the change we all believe in? Stephen Colbert is the perfect leader for a group with no leadership and no set message that is not being taken seriously. I know the main stream media is biased and looks at the protests as a bunch of hippies with foolish hand signals that are perfectly happy just squatting in parks, and turning down an opportunity to consolidate the message in a professional manner in front of millions of people every night is a foolish move and will further justify the medias beliefs (right or wrong). Frankly money is necessary to keep things moving in the right direction. That aside just having a forum on cable television with a born leader and an amazing good-hearted person like Stephen Colbert will exponentially take us in the direction this thing was started for, and this is the chance that he has been waiting for. If you talk to an average "middle" class person they do not think we have a chance and have already written us off. We will not go away but turning down a huge opportunity and one I always hoped would be possible (having the people in the streets and a leader with a TV show) from the Bush 1 era when I was 12 and dreamed of the "little" man banding together to do what was right and finally it happened. Let's take the next logical step. I know it seems like accepting money in the form of a lobbyist is against what we stand for but it the right move and the money and air-time will be used to get our message out and bills can be written and put through congress with the power that we could be wielding and then our wonderful country can be back on top again. It is 99 vs. 1 which should be the easiest victory ever but they have all the money and lobbyists, media and the government. This is our best chance so far. Then Jon Stewart, Bill Maher, msnbc, and before you know it our message will no longer be that it will be law. Thank you to our group, let us stay strong but "do not look a gift horse in the mouth". I love Colbert!
He's on right now!!!!
You gotta use the tools of the machine to fight the machine. That is the lesson of the anti-globalization movement. Stephen Colbert randomly has a super pac with an unknown amount of money donated from people like us. Fight fire with fire, unleash the super PAC! Put some shit on tv. That's the way to get to people. And make it funny. Come on, we gotta reach the average American who doesn't understand they are a part of this. How better through tv?
It was a bit he was doing. For comedic effect. Did you somehow miss that?
Its called sarcasm jackass. go to school
Stephen always the opportunist.
GTFO! Stephen Colbert is part of the Mainstream Media! He makes his money satirizing people. He is part of the 1 percent. Hes part of Viacom!
No. Colbert is one of us. That was just satire. We can't lose our sense of humor.
Jon Stewart (don't forget): also "part of Viacom". Pure evil. No doubt about it.
I LOVE Stephen Colbert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not going to say I haven't thought this already. I swear he gave a wink to us at the end of part 2. I think he actually might have donated. I know that's crazy but he has been satirizing the people and systems we are against from way back. Anyway, I watch him every night and want to have his babies.:)
