Ok, everything is incredibly messed up right now. We can't get focused because there is so much stuff we need to fix.
How about individual states begin to secede?
The US would become more like an EU, it couldn't support the 1% as easily.
Thoughts?

Although this is technically legal, the last politician that tried this in recent history wound up dead (Alaska).
...and everything would become more localized and easier to deal with.

Crossing the border states would be a pain in the neck. The economy in some states with military bases would significantly drop. The big issue in the SW, between states, would be water rights.

Oregon, Vermont, New Hamshire all have consitutional clauses enabling secession. Let's get on with it. What's the point of being affiliated with this corpse known as the US Government.
