Sing it high Sing it low Bullshit makes the flowers grow Congress makes them overlow Sing it low Sing it high For the best damn government money can buy It ain’t no lie It ain’t no sin Save our country Play to win Squeeze the Fat Cats and spread it out thin.
Details: Raise the minimum wage to at least $10 an hour Drop the tax cut for the super-rich and raise the rate to 49% for over $1 million in income Lower the work week to 30 hours. Medicare for all paid for by graduated Social Security tax, freeing all business from being involved in medical insurance. Tax ALL income--wages, salaries, dividends, inheritances, all monies received--but allow 5 year income averaging for everyone.
A concrete program as hinted at above and below simple enough to be widely understood and effective enough to do the job? 1)Tax all income the same--salaries, capital gains, inheritances, royalties, gambling winnings, everything--but allow 5 year incoming averaging for all of it too. This by itself will greatly reduce the percentage of the cash flow and wealth going to the 1%, siphon investments in the virtual economy, the casino economy, into the real economy where jobs are created. 2)Raise the minimum wage to at least $10 an hour for all "service economy" jobs that cannot be outsourced out of the country--farm labor, transportation, health care, fast food,etc--and which are most of the jobs that pay less than $10 an hour anyway, so it wouldn't hurt employment to raise it to at least $10 for all other jobs too. 3)Lower the work week to 30 hours, double time for overtime, spreading the total man-hours in the economy out over more people, that is, more jobs. 4)But eliminate the hassle, expense, and trouble of involvement in financing health care for all businesses with Medicare for all financed by graduated increases in business income tax. There can be more, but these 4 points can turn the economy around, increase economic justice, create jobs, and do it without increasing the Federal deficit at all.
What we most immediately need is a comprehensive strategy, and related candidate, that implements all our demands at the same time, and although I'm all in favor of taking down today's ineffective and inefficient Top 10% Management System of Business & Government, there's only one way to do it – by fighting bankers as bankers ourselves. Consequently, I have posted a 1-page Summary of the Strategic Legal Policies, Organizational Operating Structures, and Tactical Investment Procedures necessary to do this at:
