The Ballad of the 99% (Sung on the "Ballad of Rocket Robin Hood")
Come gather around me, 99'ners surround me, Hark now to the ballad of the occupier's movement.
I may well confound you, Astound you, Spellbound you, With heroes and villains, The bad and the good.
Watch now as our resolve race here from afar. For now, with our pride, we do our part.
Three. Two. One. MIKE CHECK!
Band of brothers, marching together. Heads held high in all kinds of weather. With fiery hearts, our resolve rises, beyond the Earth, beyond the skies! At the sight of opposition, take your stand, with the 99% of our land. Send a joyous shout throughout the land! For occupier's movement!

In times of trouble (Based on a Rocket Robin Hood vignette)
In times of trouble, times of woe
the dark before the dawn,
We turn to the 99 for their strength
in brains, as well as brawn
So though the villain holds his sway
there'll come our dawn, there'll come our day
with the occupier's movement
with the occupier's movement

The Villain thinks (Based on a Rocket Robin Hood vignette)
The villain thinks he has us now,
we'll soon be on the run.
Our systems now are a-OK,
the battle shall be won
So watch our spirits roaring high
as the Ninety-nine show their pride
for the occupier's movement!
For the occupier's movement!

Steve Earle, "Christmas in Washington"
It's Christmastime in Washington The Democrats rehearsed Gettin' into gear for four more years Things not gettin' worse The Republicans drink whiskey neat And thanked their lucky stars They said, 'He cannot seek another term They'll be no more FDRs' I sat home in Tennessee Staring at the screen With an uneasy feeling in my chest And I'm wonderin' what it means
Chorus: So come back Woody Guthrie Come back to us now Tear your eyes from paradise And rise again somehow If you run into Jesus Maybe he can help you out Come back Woody Guthrie to us now
I followed in your footsteps once Back in my travelin' days Somewhere I failed to find your trail Now I'm stumblin' through the haze But there's killers on the highway now And a man can't get around So I sold my soul for wheels that roll Now I'm stuck here in this town
Chorus
There's foxes in the hen house Cows out in the corn The unions have been busted Their proud red banners torn To listen to the radio You'd think that all was well But you and me and Cisco know It's going straight to hell
So come back, Emma Goldman Rise up, old Joe Hill The barracades are goin' up They cannot break our will Come back to us, Malcolm X And Martin Luther King We're marching into Selma As the bells of freedom ring
My friends and I are "Killjoys" and have been singing My Chemical Romance songs from the Danger Days-era (especially Destroya, SING, and Na Na Na) to get us motivated for our first Occupy protest. The situation that is played out in Danger Days is very similar to this, as the "bad guys" are a big company that took over the US, while the "good guys" are the Killjoys, or protesters. Just a very interesting way to use our interests in getting pumped up.
how about amazing grace. It is what you all need
We Are The Many by Makana: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xq3BYw4xjxE&NR=1
This was the first song I thought of months ago when the occupation began. Grant Lee Phillips, America Snoring http:// www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6IzhlZgEpw Clearly, people have begun to wake up
I think this one would do well.

Still, sing anyways. It's good to keep spirits up and it's cheaper than booze.
