The Standells slam greedy corporations and the wealthiest 1% of Americans. “Mr. One Percent” is a demo of a song that has been in the works for several months which is to be included in the Standells’ upcoming record album. Because the lyrics deal with the very issues of economic inequality that those of Occupy Wall Street are protesting, the Standells felt that they’d rather show support for the cause now with the unfinished version.
