In today's New York Times, the front of the paper contained a front page article which outlined, very clearly, what has happened to median incomes in this country. I work very hard, make a pretty decent salary, but I am sick of being nickle and dimed to death to by corporate greed, utilities greed, gas company greed, etc. Food prices are not simply rising, but soaring. Now banks are charging people to use their own debit cards...$5.00 a month and why not? The American public has very little recourse, unless you are going to go through the hassle of switching banks, having to redo your electronic deposit account, reset up your ebills, etc. The younger kids (sorry to age myself) should be protesting. they have mountains of student loan debt from Sallie Mae, a company that can charge massive interest, has its own debt collection agency (which I read somewhere) so it can charge anything that it wants for collection. Sallie Mae openly gives to politicians, well maybe not openly, but it does protect its interests. The youth of today are quite literally, while the rest of us are swimming in debt, about to drown in it. Something has gotta give....because while we are working hard, does anyone else feel like they are just not getting ahead?
