Forum Post: Some Positive Suggestions

First, I think it is great that you're getting out and conducting protests around Manhattan -- with support demonstrations around the globe. But I feel you really should keep fellow protestors (the small minority) from provoking confrontations with the cops. It doesn't achieve anything but give the movement negative publicity. And for those who get convictions, dimmer job prospects because they now have rap sheets. I think you ought to stick with economic issues and not drift into other areas, with the possible exception of universal health care. I would strongly advise you to not to demonstrate anything that might make people feel like the Occupied Wall Street movement is even remotely anti-America -- such as anti-war, anti-capitalist, etc. On that note, I encourage you to post as many American flags around the Liberty Square encampment and each time when you march. These simple steps might encourage more people to get involved. I would suggest that you set-up a rotating leadership panel (made up of 5 or so people) to act as the movement's leadership that would both address the General Assembly and be answerable to it. The panel would be changed each week (or some designated time) with its members voted upon. Finally fair elections. The panel would address the media officially and make official actions. Having such a leadership panel would make things clearer to the outside. There should also be a Lobbying Committee, that would function through or with allied groups in Washington. To get things changed on Wall Street, you're talking about the need for federal or Congressional action -- or getting existing financial laws better enforced. This would require having an organized group on the ground in D.C. to lobby representatives and senators, as well Obama Administration officials. To achieve this, I think it would be helpful to enlist national union (AFL-CIO) support. They are expert lobbyists and they are natural allies. I know Trumka would love to do this. I think it would also be useful to build up a Legislative Support Committee made up of friendly U.S. representatives and senators who would be willing to draft legislation to achieve the financial and corporate goals we are hoping to achieve. So future marches could be dedicated to supporting specific bills, like, for instance, H.R. 1489 (Rep. Marcy Kaptor), 'The Return to Prudent Banking Act', that would break up investment and commercial banks. And other related issues: Having Congress extend federal unemployment benefits for another year; have banks lower the principal balance on all underwater mortgages to their current market value; enact a 'Final Speculation Tax' to discourage harmful speculation and make Wall Street pay to rebuild the economy it helped destroy; Congress should pass legislation to provide for the direct creation of millions of jobs in local communities, as Rep. George Miller's 'Local Jobs for American Act' or Rep. Janice Schakowshy's 'Emergency Jobs to Restore the American Dream Act'; and student loan forgiveness, etc. Let's make this movement work and start achieving some concrete things for the American people!

We need also to get rid of all the anti-Semites, though few, are at the encampment and on this forum.

Thanks Atki4564 for your very detailed response. I looked over what you wrote here and your website synopsis, and it seems like it could work in some areas of the nation. However, I'm not a banking/finance expert so I couldn't give you a good answer whether it would work nationally. But your thinking is what is needed -- intelligent, caring people coming up with ideas and throwing them out there for debate. I hope more knowledgable people will respond and discuss this with you. Take Care

Many more people will come to your side when you are proactive (for “new” Business & Government solutions), instead of reactive (against “old” Business & Government solutions), which is why what we most immediately need is a comprehensive “new” strategy that implements all our various socioeconomic demands at the same time, regardless of party, and although I'm all in favor of taking down today's ineffective and inefficient Top 10% Management System of Business & Government, there's only one way to do it – by fighting bankers as bankers ourselves; that is, using a Focused Direct Democracy organized according to our current Occupations & Generations. Consequently, I have posted a 1-page Summary of the Strategically Weighted Policies, Organizational Operating Structures, and Tactical Investment Procedures necessary to do this at:

because we need 100,000 “support clicks” at AmericansElect.org to support a Presidential Candidate -- such as any given political opportunist you'd like to draft -- in support of the above bank-focused platform.

Most importantly, remember, as cited in the first link, that as Bank Owner-Voters in your 1 of 48 "new" Business Investment Groups (or "new" Congressional Committees) you become the "new" Congress replacing the "old" Congress according to your current Occupation & Generation, called a Focused Direct Democracy.

Therefore, any Candidate (or Leader) therein, regardless of party, is a straw man, a puppet; it's the STRATEGY – the sequence of steps – that the people organize themselves under, in Military Internet Formation of their Individual Purchasing & Group Investment Power, that's important. In this, sequence is key.

Why? Because there are Natural Social Laws – in mathematical sequence – that are just like Natural Physical Laws, such as the Law of Gravity. You must follow those Natural Social Laws or the result will be Injustice, War, etc.

The FIRST step in Natural Social Law is to CONTROL the Banks as Bank Owner-Voters. If you do not, you will inevitably be UNJUSTLY EXPLOITED by the Top 10% Management Group of Business & Government who have a Legitimate Profit Motive, just like you, to do so.

Consequently, you have no choice but to become Candidates (or Leaders) yourselves as Bank Owner-Voters according to your current Occupation & Generation.

So please JOIN the 2nd link so we can make our support clicks at AmericansElect.org when called for, at exactly the right time, by an e-mail from that group, in support of the above the bank-focused platform. If so, then you will see and feel how your goals can be accomplished within the above strategy as a “new” Candidate (or Leader) of your current Occupation & Generation.

Hi Brian, thanks for responding. I agree with you that the OWS movement needs to better demonstrate that it is not an anti-American organization, but an organization that is dedicated to support the American people by working with the government(s). Once that is done, then I think you'll many more of the 99% taking an active part. The name "Fairshair" is a good one. Take Care

I support this group 100%. I have logged in to express my feeling that though I support the cause, I feel strongly this has been horribly mis branded and will suffer because of it. There are vast numbers of people across a large spectrum of lifestyles and views who would be and should be a part of this but the name sounds way to fringe, antagonistic and far left. This movement should be called Fairshair.org and it will balloon into something real.

Jewels69 I agree with you totally. It is not going to be done by street protests alone. It would have to happen through intense lobbying, mostly in Washington, to get legislation for such changes and greater enforcement of existing laws. Thanks for responding.
