Too many think we're soo ticked off that we're blind and can't see the forest for the trees. What should we "focus" on... at least initially ?

  1. end money in politics.
  2. count profits from the sale of stocks and commodities futures as regular income.
  3. End the Bush tax cuts
  4. end all product subsidies. (oil, ethanol, soy beans etc)
  5. End all wars immediately and cut defense spending to pre-911 levels.

Make lobbying illegal. Emails to individual legislators are sorted by your zip code, and you cannot email any other legislator unless you have the zip to their district. Yet a lobbyist has direct access to any legislator and may even represent a foreign company or country. This is a total corruption of the representative government. For example, the super committee that is working on budget reform affects my life and my taxes, but my ability to communicate with them is being interfered with, while someone from another country can have their desires made known by a person with a prior relationship face to face.

First, close the Fed and let government resume control of the money supply.

Second, implement local currencies as described by Bernard Lietaer.

Third, start looking at transition models from a monetary economy to a resource based economy.

As I mention earlier, Political corruption and the buying of influence by special interests, corporations, etc. Those are the people politicians listen to.

My two cents ..

  1. Focus on accountability and regulation in the financial (banking, investment, lending and insurance) sector - investigate and prosecute those who broke the law and put new laws in place to keep their greed in check.

  2. Reforming the influence of corporations and lobbyists on the legislative and regulatory process- starting with elections. Place term limits on members of congress.

Get the legalized bribery out of politics!!!!! Campaign finance reform is needed first and foremost. Until our representatives actually represent the American people and not multi-national corporations and special interests any legislation that comes forward (including a return of the Glass-Steagall Act) is guaranteed to be so full of loop holes that is has no teeth.

How we can easily Reform Wall Street: Take away their powers once again.

"We are here Congress because we want to bring BACK the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933 http://www.investopedia.com/articles/03/071603.asp#axzz1aPEc3wX which saved our country from the Great Depression by preventing banks and insurance companies from merging and becoming large brokerage firms; instead of Banks and Insurance companies--can't we learn a history lesson here Congress? Btw, why did most of you vote for its repeal in 1999? http://www.counterpunch.org/2008/09/19/shattering-the-glass-steagall-act

Think about where we are now, it all started in 1999 with the subprime loans Senator Phil Gramm was peaching on Senate floor. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKQOxr2wBZQ&feature=related

Furthermore, we also want you to CHANGE the Commodities Future Modernization Act of 2000 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commodity_Futures_Modernization_Act_of_2000 BACK to where it was before 2000, which since has deregulated energy markets and has allowed for such scams as The Enron Loophole; whereas in the early 2000's Enron Corp. was charging 400 bucks plus for a kilowatt hour...They all when to jail for this. But, the Enron loophole is still not closed, for example, allowing speculators to resell barrels of oil over and over again before it reaches the gas station owner. It's basically, legal gambling at our expense. What were those lawmakers thinking then? What are you thinking now? Either do the right think, or you're part of the 1%."

Why are oil prices high? The Enron Loophole
