Take a look at your idol former President Clinton for answers to your questions. Supporting documentation in the link below:

President Obama says the Occupy Wall Street protests show a "broad-based frustration" among Americans with the financial sector, which continues to kick against regulatory reforms three years after the financial crisis.

"You're seeing some of the same folks who acted irresponsibly trying to fight efforts to crack down on the abusive practices that got us into this in the first place," he complained earlier this month. But what if government encouraged, even invented, those "abusive practices"?

Yeah whats with the "your idol" crap. Fox tell you to believe that? Clinton was just another neoliberal tool, like both Bushes, Reagan, and Obama. (might want to look up what neoliberal is, it probably doesn't mean what you think it does, you guys tend to speak some sort of Newspeak that twists the meanings of words).

One-party state run by the Republicrats. Even the Communist Party had factions (and thus elections), big deal.

ok - so why don't you occupy them? your aim is off

Because we're not going to be directed by the Republican Party against the Democrats or vice-versa. Quit trying. We're after the puppetmasters who pull government's strings. Government is irrelevant, no more than a clearinghouse and megaphone belonging to your masters.

so why don't you research specific congressmen & senators to see who you disagree with, call on them via townhall or occupy their office & state your case to them. Then support a candidate you like &/or run your own. Moving into the park just makes you look childish and frankly not worthy of respect.

Because the problem isn't discrete cases, its structural and institutional.

Running or endorsing candidates isn't what OWS is about. OWS isn't the Tea Party. People can participate in OWS and vote for candidates that reflect their views (or not). OWS isn't about partisan politics. Did the Civil Rights Movement run candidates for office, no, of course not. That wasn't what it was about either.

If you think protest makes people look "foolish and childish" then you must think the people who founded the nation were foolish children, because they protested in the streets too. Not everything they did was, shall we say, "mature" - for instance when they protested the Stamp Act, they were damaging property and physically harassing officials, sometimes driving them from their homes or even just outright physically bullying and humiliating them in public (eg tar and feathering). None of that detracts from their cause.

ah - harassing officials. see that's what you need to do - harass government officials.

[-] 1 points by Edgewaters (912) 12 years ago

You're obsessed with directing OWS into partisan politics. Nobody's buying. Give up. You're futile.

trying to find out what you expect to accomplish. no one seems to know.

[-] 1 points by Edgewaters (912) 12 years ago

Sure they do. You just keep saying that hoping it'll be true.

What do we expect to accomplish, a shift in public discourse. Heck ... we already have.

'Your idol?' Speak for yourself aries. I for one, despised Clinton from day one. He was one of the biggest criminals to ever occupy the White House. Remember 'Whitewater?' How about White House counsel Vince Foster, Commerce Secretary Ron Brown or the two dozen or so other suspicious deaths of people related to the Clintons and Whitewater? Hillary's no better,a downright evil bitch. Can't stand either one of them.

And in regards to your link? I'm not a bit surprised. It's just the latest in a long series of problems in this country in regards to so-called racial equality. One of the main reasons this country has fallen behind in such things as education standards is because of this misguided approach. Since the '70's I've watched the lowering of standards in school tests, college entrance exams, driver's license tests and a host of other areas because certain factions in this country claimed they couldn't pass these tests because the tests were 'racist.' It seems some things will never change, eh?

yet you are not occupying the government are you . your aim is off. this movement is nothing but a temper tantrum of children. No wonder the government has no respect for us. They look at us as spoiled children - and they are right. Now go to your room lol!

Go to my room??? Hey, at least you have a sense of humor. Ah, anytime I hear Clinton's name I get all riled up. You could probably tell. But here's a little background, just so you know my perspective. I'm not down at Zuccotti, I'm in the Midwest, I'm 53 and lower income, so I'm neither spoiled nor a child. I've been one of the few on this forum that has suggested breaking up the Occupy sites, mainly due to the negative press, and taking this to the next level. And you're mistaken about the government thinking this movement is nothing but a bunch of spoiled children, that's MSM bullshit. They may have thought in the beginning, but it's no longer the case. I guarantee you, they are now taking us very seriously and are beginning to get concerned. If you don't think so, read this article:
