The petition is to help raise awareness about what's known as "naked short selling"--the widespread illegal practice of trading fake shares to short sell a company. It contributed to the 2008 economic meltdown and has robbed Americans of trillions of dollars, jobs, and more ...
We also hope to get as many signatures as possible by the time (possibly March 11) that the Senate Banking Committee has its confirmation hearings for Mary Jo White as new head of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
great. I signed it. we should organize an action at the hearings. expose the bare facts of "naked short selling" lol and all the other fraud SEC & Justice dept do nothing about !!! see the other post here about William K Black on how "We've decriminalized fraud"video.
also the film on naked short selling, "The Wall Street Conspiracy" http://thewallstreetconspiracy.com (i heard full film is on itunes, but haven't found it yet). I saw the dvd. those guys have dedicated their lives to stopping this, and the news media, SEC, congress, etc. all turned their backs on them.
