Name a base for the man responsible for killing more
.........American soldiers than hit1er or tojo ?
Name a base for a general who executed 22 American POWs?
Name a base for the head of the Georgia KKK?
Name a base for a bishop who owned hundreds of slaves?
Traitor general lee – Ft. Lee, VA
Traitor general pickett – Ft. Pickett, VA
Traitor general gordon – Ft. Gordon, GA
Traitor general polk – Ft. Polk, LA
Maybe more appropriate names –
.......Ft. Rommel or Ft. Cornwallis or Ft. Agnew
Outrageous as this is, I know this is a minor detail, but how would you feel about being asked to serve your country in a facility named for a traitor responsible for killing American soldiers?
And, if you are a descendant of confederate traitors,
are you proud of these names?
Southern pride doesn't mean all southerners agree with these names.
Why would YOU be proud of anything the YOU did not do?
I have lived for years in the south and I have seen southern pride
and what some southerners can do-
proud of the greatest treason against our country
proud that one race is better than another
proud that taxes are low - as are education standards
proud that religion CAN be taught in school
proud that their votes gave us leaders like shrub & paul & gomert
Ah. You lived in the South. Now we can understand your obsession with the events of 150 years ago. Let me guess, nobody liked you and now you're all bitter and angry, right? Bad childhood memories?
As part of the anti-Vietnam war movement & civil rights movement, I saw first hand what the south could do
I am not bitter and angry - but I'm sure that your brilliance allows you to judge people by post
the fort you would serve might be Fort Burnside or Fort McClellan. Or maybe Fort Kerry. CooCoo
Is there a Fort Bloodbath McGrath? If not, there should be.
I'm proud I don't live on Staten Island in 2013.

racism exists everywhere
but how many freedom riders were beated up in NJ ? in MS?
how many lynchings were there in the "confererate" states in the last century?
how many lynchings were there in the "non-confererate" states in the last century?

Lots of bad people have done bad things in the past, but putting the blame on an entire group of human beings who had nothing to do with it is mean and lazy. If you don't like the South you must really hate all the Germans. Do you hate all the Germans?
Maybe you should write some soldiers who are at these bases and ask them what they think since their opinion is the most important
I do not hate
[atwater & cheney & lapierre & norquist are exceptions]
the fact is that TODAY too many southerners worship the worst traitors in American history
