I doubt very much that the new strategies for a war in the West American Warm Lake will include the U.S. Marines storming those rather stupid artificial molehills in the West American Warm Lake. For what? If the U.S. should go to war with Redfuckgina, they would be destroyed rather quickly, like popping weather balloons.
Named after the god of wars, Mars has dessicated-solar-wind-bleached-brine-salt flats with the similar red and pinkish white colors likely indicating [supernovae-created-]iron-oxide rust ( e.g. hematite ) formed in shallow waters. Mars should have been more aptly named Salty Rustia. The South Australian Outback filmed in the movie "Walkabout" can be an intermediate-step testbed for the long-term survival/life-support strategies on Mars.
The South Australian Outback is similar to Mars scape in some ways.
