A new effort has been started to Occupy The Constitution. This effort launches a new Direct Democracy tool called the National Opinion Collection System ( NOCS ). This tool creates a process to capture ALL the comments of EVERY citizen about major social issues, elections and bills before congress. This effort is described at http://occupywallst.org/forum/occupytheconstitution-introduction

Wouldn't all the items on the suggested List Of Grievances in the 99% Declaration be dealt with at the ATRICLE V Convention? If that is true then the lack of the convention is our grievance. Does the wording of the first two items on The List in the Declaration lead you to believe that the National General Assembly will demand an ARTICLE V Convention?

Article 5 can cover anything we need far as my study of the constitution and methods of interpreting show.

Yes, the lack of a convention is our grievance and notice to congress of our awareness of the violations needs to be made official in ways that can be shown to states later IF we have to pressure states to enforce the constitution.

THE NGA doesn't appear able to discuss Article 5. If it happens it will be because citizens are free thinkers, can conduct critical thinking, will read the constitution and history and are simply gathering in the common interest despite what any social authority ascribes to.

I learned in the 9-11 truth world how much social fears are used to control people. That may be what defeats rights and freedoms in America, IF people allow it.

When they see an opportunity to ally unconditionally with law enforcement, such should be obvious as a constitutional moment of agreement indefense of the constitution:) -

The beauty of the NGA Petition is that it is official and carries some real weight, unlike micky-mouse petitions at the WH site. They're easily ignored. That means that if the government ignores The List, it can be shown to states (and the 99%) later IF we have to pressure the 99% to vote for the newly formed independent third party so we can get a congress by 2016 that WILL stop the violation.

" V. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that IF the PETITION FOR A REDRESS OF GRIEVANCES approved by the 876 Delegates of the NATIONAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY in consultation with the NINETY-NINE PERCENT OF THE PEOPLE, is not acted upon within a reasonable time and to the satisfaction of the Delegates of the NATIONAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY, said Delegates shall reconvene to utilize the grassroots network established in the election of the NATIONAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY to organize a new INDEPENDENT POLITICAL PARTY to run candidates for every available Congressional seat in the mid-term election of 2014 and again in 2016 until all vestiges of the existing corrupt corporatocracy have been eradicated through the power of the ballot box."

There is no downside risk to holding the NGA. I'm prepared to invest my time and so are some others. And if the delegates reach the right conclusion... it's game on. 202 days tiil that? It is a golden opportunity.

I'm not familiar with their procedures and their web pages are counter intuitive in some ways, also my mac osx 10.4.1 is not working with many web2 site source codes these days. Accordingly, if they are not here, or some ordinary forum, hopefully with a polling function, I wouldn't know or be able to take part in any way.

What is 202 days off that relates to Article 5?

I dunno how, somehow. I think we do the best we can with the technology we have, and then decide if it's sufficiently valid. It must be perfect or it's worthless? Whether you're a farmer, a warrior, or a lawyer, you prepare yourself as best you can and when the moment of truth arrives, you shout "damn the torpedos" and go for it.

202 days til the NGA. I'd suggest you read the Declaration again and insert 'lack of ARTICLE V Convention' as item #1 on the suggested List. You would find yourself online signing up for delegate even if you had to do it with a Commodore 64.

"You may be right. It's all a waste of time. I guess that's just the chance I'm prepared to take, a danger I'm prepared to face. Cut to the chase."

Yah!!! This is the attitude that will start to get things done! Power to you.

Okay, posted this comment, don't know if that is wht you meant or not.

"The lack of "Article V", a violation of law, the constitution and oath of office at the top of the list assures that no one is reaching for the authority to see demands met and prevailing lawfully and peacefully in revolution."

It took almost a minute to scroll to the bottom of the page and the scroll bar didn;t work. I think it is due to the uses of WEB 2.0.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_2.0

We need to demand OWS shun WEB 2.0 so we can continue access.

I don't understand where "insert" is found. Page,

http://www.nycga.net/resources/declaration/

took 5 minutes to load. Those creating must have brand new corporate products:) -

You have to mentally insert to get the idea or join the Working Group. If you want to actually insert, then you have to occupy one of the 876 seats in the Assembly. Are you prepared for that?

I'm getting a lot done with 10.4.11

Physically occupy a seat? Where?

[-] 1 points by AFarewellToKings (1486) 12 years ago

"occupy one of the 876 seats in the Assembly."

The National General Assembly

What I'm trying to do here is suggest that one way to move towards an ART V Convention is to have the lack of an ART V become a grievance on the NGA's List Of Grievances. That may involve having to stand as a delegate to the NGA, not simply trying to alter the doc on the website. Sorry if I gave you that impression. I don't know how the suggested list was produced but I do know that it has been changing over the last 7-8 weeks. I would recommend you contact them and ask how the suggested list is modified and get involved in that process. That, and becoming a delegate may see lack of ART V Convention make it to the ratified List Of Grievances the delegates plan to sign at Independence Hall next July.

The reason I am suggesting this to you is that this ART V Convention is a powerful process that may, as you say, cover anything we need. With the NGA only 199 days away, you might be closer than you think to having the ART V put on the national agenda and into the national conscience, which is a step in the right direction. With L Lessig in the proximity of the 99% Declaration, this may be a real window of opportunity.
