Below is a transcription of two written statements, which were recorded the day of March 22, 2012. These were written in response to threats issued by Officer Warren of Sacramento Police Department. Threats to have us incarcerated, to have us committed to a psych ward, and finally a personal threat to me that I would end up in my own “piss and blood”. I received this as a death threat. Having already investigated and come to a knowledge of the great and awful crimes committed in Sacramento County Jail, I refer you to this video; where an inmate was smeared all over a filthy holding cell, contaminated with urine, feces, and other human excrement. Statement 1: Andrew G. Haymore

This Morning at around 7:30am myself and a friend of mine were approached by Officer Warren of Sacramento Police Dept. Officer Warren was cordial in asking my friend to remove her belongings from the City Hall “Occupy” demonstration area. However a “debate” ensued as Officer Warren began to threaten us to be cited and arrested; although myself and my friend had already respectfully began to comply with his request; for her to remove her belongings. As she was gathering her property he continued to use tactics of fear to instigate strife and contention; threatening us that he was going to arrest us and have us instituted into a “psych ward”. The reason why I was compelled to “debate” with Officer Warren was because on every hand, he threatened to use what ever manners necessary to impede upon, or destroy our First Amendment. In other words he simply did not respect any elements of “protest” or “demonstration”. I told him — being a public servant, and being employed by us and by the people, that if it was his intent to destroy our First Amendment — that we (the people) would put him in jail. His response was directed to me, and I quote his words “You will end up in your own piss and blood”. I responded “Is that a threat?” He said, “Yes”. I told him, “You’re mad bro” and he left on his bike.

Signed March 22, 2012 Andrew Haymore

Statement 2: Kathrine E. (Surname withheld by request)

My name is Kathrine E. I am also withholding my last name because I fear Officer Warrens threats. I have read Andrew’s statement and it is true. I was a witness to these events and a subject to his threats. This occurred this morning at 7:30am March 22, 2012 at City Hall.

Thank you for your patience.

Signed Kathrine E. (Surname Withheld)

In closing, I would like to encourage anyone with grievances against the City, or County of Sacramento; to begin to file claim, document, and publish these grievances. AT VERY LEAST, record written statements of all witnesses with sign and date. Governments, and institutions of governments are created BY THE PEOPLE. And FOR THE PEOPLE. The Sacramento County Jail, and its court systems within, and all the bail bondsmen without, are a sick and cruel perversion of human dignity. Change begins with awareness. Change begins with the people.

All peaceful protesters who are intimidated, threatened or attacked by the police should speak up so bravely.

Also, we should all speak in support of them to let those in power know that this is not acceptable behavior from those who are supposed to protect and serve.

I already called Sacramento Police Chief Rick Braziel and left a message that I (and others around the country) are aware of this situation and will be watching it waiting for news on disciplinary actions taken against this officer.

His number is 916.808.0800

Also, the people responsible for investigating these complaints and determining a course of action are the Internal Affairs division. Their number is 916.808.2290

Please support your fellow protesters, but remember to always be polite, rational and moderate. Calling them names or issuing counter-threats invalidates anything else you might say, and gives them more justification for their irrational fears and unjust oppression.
