Y'all are so limited in your understanding of big league politics !

The greatest fear of the Republicans is that the Extreme Wing wins the nomination or that the Tea Party splinters out to run their own candidate (remember Ross Perot and what he did to the Republicans ?).

Perry is a favorite of the RNC who is also pretty popular in the Tea Party. He's in the race at the request of the RNC to make sure neither Cain nor Paul can get enough votes to win the nomination OR to run as independents.

The Republican nominee is Romney. He's the only one that can run successfully against Obama, and the RNC knows it.

anyone is better than romney

[-] 1 points by Rico (3027) 13 years ago

Maybe I'll punch the box labeled "Anyone" then ;o)

[-] 0 points by newjustice2 (50) 13 years ago

Romney is just like obama he will keep everything obama is doing the leader of dems and rep are on the same team. Ron pual is the only person for the people on the right and dennis kucinich would be for the left.

[-] 1 points by Rico (3027) 13 years ago

All I can say is that if you're on the far left or the far right, you've gone too far ;o)

Everybody knows that the 2012 fight is in the middle.

[-] 0 points by Frankie (733) 13 years ago

Correct. More specifically, the independent middle in a few key states. The rest just fills up the buckets to about the same levels to get each side close.

[-] 0 points by newjustice2 (50) 13 years ago

That the lie they tell the people so we can never have real leader. Have you ever notice that the so called middle people always sale out the middle class and the poor no matter if they are on the right or left. Its time for a real leader.

[-] 1 points by Rico (3027) 13 years ago

Oh, I don't like the two-party game any more than anyone else, but it's what we have right now and national committees are very good at manipulating the process.

I lean libertarian socially, and I'm a fiscal conservative. Unfortunately, I happen to like the Federal Reserve and Chairman Bernanke was the right guy at the right time. I know you'll flame all over me for liking the Fed, but don't bother. I've been all through that debate multiple times in these forums ( see http://occupywallst.org/forum/what-is-money/ ) and nobody has been able to change my mind.

[-] 1 points by number2 (914) 13 years ago

you are so right Rico yet so wrong. How do you like your grocery bill and your gas bill going up, up and away? I will convince you because I believe in you and I won't give up on you. haha

[-] 1 points by Rico (3027) 13 years ago

Yes, but I already HAVE my Federal Reserve !

I'd chat some more, but I have to go print some more money !

Muhahahaha !

[-] 1 points by number2 (914) 13 years ago

hey print me some while you are at it.

[-] 1 points by Rico (3027) 13 years ago

You jest, but if I was in charge, that's EXACTLY what I would do.

We don't need to print all this money and pump it through banks or federal "jobs" programs which are designed to increase the power of our representatives, we could just print it and give it to the people. We would, of course, have to "disguise" it so it's not so obvious. I dunno, something like a $5,000 tax credit for all ;o)

[-] 1 points by number2 (914) 13 years ago

then the dollar really is worthless. If we can copy it infinitely then you might offer to give me 5 trillion dollars for me to mow your lawn but I just printed 20 trillion last night and it will take less time and be easier for me to go print 5 trillion than it would to mow your lawn. So no deal!

[-] 1 points by Rico (3027) 13 years ago

If I double the money supply and give it to you, then I have just redistributed 25% of the wealth held by China and the rich to you.

[-] 1 points by number2 (914) 13 years ago

that's fine for me but you have also caused the price of groceries, gas, etc. to double for everyone else in this country.

[-] 2 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 13 years ago

so what. one dumb texass fence post is as good as another.

and I've still got splinters from that last texass bush . . . you know, the one it took eight years to get rid of.

[-] 2 points by GreedKills (1119) 13 years ago

LMAO No more messes from Texas please!!!

[-] 0 points by Aberration (5) 13 years ago

You have obviously never heard, or read anything Paul has said.

Seems to me, you are this other dumb texas fence post.

[-] 2 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 13 years ago

wrong. I heard him state with his own lips:

he wants to end FEMA

[-] 1 points by Aberration (5) 13 years ago

OH MY!!!! Not FEMA!!!!

He wants to end the FED too.

But directly to your point, how does wanting to end FEMA make him the same as Bush?

[-] 1 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 13 years ago

both from texass

both dumbass a rock

both aspire[d] to the Oval Office

I'm sure one is more than sufficient.

[-] 1 points by Aberration (5) 13 years ago

How exactly is he dumb? So all people from Texas are the same? So anyone aspiring to the oval office is the same?

Seems to me, you have many ugly prejudices you need to work past.

[-] 1 points by mtmama (34) 13 years ago

No surprise. Perry was a D/F student from A&M. George W. was a C student from Yale. Oouch!! Although I totally dig RP's foreign policy, he wants to END the Dept. of Interior! We need our national forests if we want to keep the bullet from being triggered into our head! Also, Ron P. drafted Right to Life legislation- supposedly to get abortion back to the states. But, if you were a true libertarian, wouldn’t you live and let live, and keep the bedroom out of the government, state or federal? Abe Lincoln said we should never legislate morality.

[-] 1 points by powertothepeople (1264) 13 years ago

I just can't believe Perry is even on that stage.

The stress must be getting to him. He needs to bow out now and not embarass himself further.

[-] 1 points by sudoname (1001) from Berkeley, CA 13 years ago

hahaha, I don't want that guy negotiating anything for the US. I don't think the GOP seriously thought he had a chance though - he's just there for kicks.

[-] 1 points by invient (360) 13 years ago

I feel sorry for the guy... the sad part is people actually thought he was able to be president, and some still do.

[-] 1 points by newjustice2 (50) 13 years ago

LOL I know that's what happen when you drink to much fluoride water. I know the bilderberg group must be pissed lol

[-] 0 points by happybanker (766) 13 years ago

I like RP but you gotta admit he looked bad tonight. He looks and acts like he is drunk or something. No personality.

[-] 1 points by cheeseus (109) 13 years ago

Looked bad? How so? The man pretty much answered every question without straying. He laid down facts. The other candidates refered to him as they knew he was the professor on the economic topic. Here is a man they say is too old to be president, yet he remembered all of his talking points and debated on the fly. Meanwhile the young stud next to him couldn't even remember his pre-planned remarks...

[-] 1 points by newjustice2 (50) 13 years ago

He look great he had the best answers thinking like that got us the mess that is obama
