Any sign or chant suggestions?

I really want to hand out mittens that say "Goldman Sachs 2012"

Or give out baby trees that you plant in your yard and they then grow to become the perfect height.

Romney thinks corporations are people!

Or...

Romney doesnt know Obama is destroying our constitutional rights!

See his statement where he says corporations are people, while we the people are trying to ammend the constitution to say corporations are not people, and money is not freedom of speech.

Good one!

And you can't say "Obama" without saying "bomb"!

If corporations are people, Mitt Romney is a murderer.

romney= feed the middle east - starve americans

Democrats and Republicans are the two sides of the same corporate-controlled and totally corrupt coin. Forget Obama and Romney. Forget voting in rigged elections with predetermined outcomes: The only real change will come with REGIME CHANGE.

Hand out lucky underwear? Pink slips?

[-] 1 points by freewriterguy (882) 12 years ago

I dont think you should mention underwear, I wear the garments of the priesthood also (as mentioned in christians bible) who are clueless about it), its a holy symbol of the covenant we made with God, and not a matter to share with other men. Just as the wedding ring is a symbol of love between a man and a wife.

People have differing views about the Mormon underwear.

Please don't force your religious views on people that are not in your religion. It's unconstitutional to establish laws respecting a religion. According to the constitution and the rule of law... your religious view of what marriage is doesn't matter.

What's next? Should we establish laws according to the Quran, the Book of Mormon, and the Bhagavad Gita? Fuck no.

Did I miss something or are you responding only to freewriterguy's comment above? If the latter, I don't see how stating his opinion and the meaning of his religious practices constitutes forcing his religious views on people. It sounds like he is simply stating his point of view. Why do you object to that?

[-] 0 points by TrevorMnemonic (5827) 12 years ago

He is stating it like it is a fact. That is why I object to it. Religion cannot be entwined with government.

Lets Get Real. You know this guy does not support equal rights. And that is shameful in my opinion and I will speak out against it. Otherwise option B is sit down and shut up. No thanks.

[-] 1 points by LetsGetReal (1420) from Grants, NM 12 years ago

It sounded like an expression of opinion and explanation of his beliefs to me. Opining that he doesn't think you should raise the magic underpants issue with Romney isn't even remotely close to trying to entwine religion with government.

Actually I am not familiar with freewriterguy's views. I don't see him advocating inequality or governmental imposition of religion in the above post. Perhaps your reply had more to do with his other posts than this one?

You are one of my favorite posters here, so I was surprised by your response to FWG which seemed a bit over the top given what he had written here. Thanks for explaining your views to me.

[-] 0 points by TrevorMnemonic (5827) 12 years ago

Well thanks for the compliment.

Opinions and beliefs can be hot button issues. Therefore sometimes they can have hot button responses. Also his wedding comment is completely unrelated to his commentary about underwear. It clearly shows he does not support gay marriage. Equality is very important. Anyone advocating for a form of segregation needs to be talked to

What part of my comment was incorrect?

I said to him, "According to the constitution and the rule of law... your religious view of what marriage is doesn't matter."

Some laws need to be changed... but I happen to strongly agree with the first amendment.

[-] 1 points by LetsGetReal (1420) from Grants, NM 12 years ago

I may be wrong about his intent of course, but I thought FWG was using the wedding ring analogy to try to explain the symbolic meaning of the garments he wears. The meaning of wedding rings is familiar to most people, while wearing religious undergarments is not.

Of course, that was my impression not being familiar with his views on whether same sex marriage should be legal. I simply don't see that issue addressed in his post above.

What? You can't rub two brain cells together and come up with something on your own?

[-] 1 points by TrevorMnemonic (5827) 12 years ago

I have several ideas... but 2 heads are better than one... or have your brain cells forgotten that phrase?
