The only way to get real meaningful community involvement for people in America is a mass people movement. Let's nudge these people into action.

Yep but it is really a war being foughgt on the battlefield of the ledger. There is a huge consumer need that is not being met. When I see the energy in both young and old protesters out there I know that these tough people will put theri heads together and start taking on these crusty corporations, and stealing away their underappreciated employees. Five college graduates and a couple of talented high school grads today easily could topple the most iconic corporation. Capitalism Is the way. And Capitalism is based roughly on the Darwinian Theory that concludes that only species that adapt survive to reproduce. If five college graduates can't outsmart the graduates of yesteryear who drew up these old corp;s marketing plans, then I would be surprised, It's a battlefield of the ledgers, we don't even see dollar bills anyway. That is really the only way to battle the old corps who have forgotten to adapt and are now rigidly not : ( servicing the needs of the consumer.

First OWS would need to nominate candidates or at least endorse them. I will be the Green Party candidate in CT 4th district.

Apathy is the silent AND boring killer. Second only to ennui.

How do you nudge them into action? block up streets so they can't get home or to work to feed their families? yell at pedestrians if they don't join up? Forced commitment usually doesn't get very good results.

Stop being so damn politically correct all the time. This is the problem with liberals. They are too comfortable and they don't want to rock the boat.

That kind of action will result in civil war. Not positive, non- violent revolution.

Find the thread that talks about the roadblocks some protestors are doing, questioning each person to determine whether they can pass or not. Couple people might have been run over and killed already. That is a stupid tactic. I imagine some little old lady pulling up to a crowd of angry people and being stopped and questioned. Probably scared for her life. She might just floor it to get away and kill a bunch of people. Protesters need to stay on the sidewalks and think about what they are doing.

I absolutely agree. I am not a violent person but I could see how someone could become so quickly if they are impeded in their travel. That's aside from the possibility of accidents.
