Seems like the GOP want to pretend the Confederates never lost and want to oppress minorites and women by denying them their rights. The confederates lost for a reason.

I'm not saying Democrats are the good guys. I'm just saying that Red States are being run like Confederate Racist Corporate Fascists States.
Don't be fooled into believing that this is only a Red State issue. The Dems are pushing austerity nearly as strongly as are the Republicans and don't forget most of the local administrations that evicted our encampments were Democratic, not Republican.
For years, I've been asking a question-
In history, are there any other major lost wars for a totally vanquished cause that are celebrated as glorious?
I have also wondered if Booth gave us the "nasty" reconstruction that seeded modern southern bigotry and insanity
And for the punch line -
would the United States be better off if the southern states DID secede ?
Maybe we can elect Rick Perry as the president of the csa.
The Corporate Confederate Red States of America!
The Corporate Confederate States of America!

Proof? What oppression? What denial of right?
Retarded post
You are a flaming idiot!
More lives were lost in the civil war, which was not about slavery at all, than all wars fought on the planet since.
It was the most expensive war ever fought and the United States still hasn't paid the debt from it.
Civil War deaths: 620,000 six-hundred and twenty thousand
Adolf Hitler death toll: 6,000,000 six million
Chairman Mao death toll: 40,000,000 forty million - 72,000,000 seventy-two million
Hey, Hitler and Mao's casualties seemingly didn't declare war so it would seem they don't count the same way.
You're probably right.
absolutely, the two you cite were mass murders and genocide of unarmed non-militants, not the same as war.
I think you mean to say "more American lives lost..." The way it reads right now is patently false. Also, the war was indeed fought with slavery as the main issue. Attempts are often made to convince people it was about states rights, but one of the main reasons South Carolina seceded was because of Pennsylvania exercising its state rights with regard to fugitive slaves (SC thought PA wasn't adhering ardently enough to federal legislation). The confederate slave-owners, standing among the ashes of their oligarchy, crying for their property rights, recieved plenty of sympathy then, and none need be offered now.
Some say the civil war was really a war between the US and the British Empire which took sides with the south, as a divide and conquer strategy against the US. This is why Lincoln used to say that preserving the union was his priority.
It was all about money.
The French and Spanish were waiting on our borders as well.
Read Lincoln's letter to Greeley dated 1862..... it wasn't about slavery regardless if that was coat-tailed on it.
It was about the holy dollar and what makes America work, debt.
Not more conspiracy theories, and you still left off bigfoot..
Oh my bad, the letter Lincoln wrote Greeley was full of lies he made up to cover his true ambition, to free slaves, not to prevent the Union from being broken up and leaving the North holding the bag.
Yeah, it was cheap too and nobody died.
Good thing you won't live much longer, stoner.
Yeah, whatever.
You still have to work bigfoot into the theory, or at least the Illuminatti.
Slavery had no bearing in the civil war? Oh the revisionist history that moonbats come up with.
I was there.......... Lincoln's primary motivation was to prevent the splitting of the union over money.
Slavery was just an also ran....
