I have endeavored to generate fifteen points that the OWS movement might agree upon as an appropriate platform. Obviously this list is not an all inclusive thing. I have a longer version that explains each point in more detail, but it won't fit here. Best of luck in your endeavors and a sincere hope that your movement can bring about positive change.
I. No Job Shall Be Offered That Does Not Pay A Living Wage, Nor Any Goods Sold In Interstate Commerce Which Are the Product of Such Labor.
Free Trade has opened the way for the loss of American jobs and opportunity to foreign workers, whose impoverished state is treated like a valid business resource by multinational corporations. Likewise, illegal immigrants have been exploited for their labor by the unscrupulous. This ends now. All goods produced by workers who are underpaid for such work, where such underpayment is defined as less than the fair market wage earned by a legally hired and retained American worker, shall be barred from entry into the American market. Those who introduce such goods
after such laws are passed prohibiting the introduction thereof shall be fined in a sufficient amount to prevent such individuals from making a profit from such introduction. Notably, as the WTO policies require only that the United States not treat foreign importers differently from local good producers, and as this rule does just that for a non-discriminatory policy reason, the implementation of this policy is not in violation of the rules of the World Trade Organization. In fact, this demand supports the goal of the WTO to promote the most efficient producer, as it no longer allows inefficient producers to use wealth disparity as a replacement for innovation.
II. No Interest Shall Accrue Upon Any Debt, Regardless of Its Nature, In An Amount Greater Than Six Percent Per Annum.
III. Interest Shall Not Be Compounded.
IV. Student Loan Debt Shall Be Fully Dischargeable As Unsecured Debt Through Bankruptcy.
V. The Federal Government Shall Never Again Keep A Business From Insolvency.
VI. Taxes Shall Be Simplified For All And Raised For The Highest Income Earners.
VII. FICA Taxes Shall Be Paid From All Income Regardless of Level.
VIII. Clean Energy Shall Be The Principal Endeavor of the 21st Century.
IX. A Fourth Branch of Government Shall Be Created, The Sole Purpose Of Which Shall Be To Act As A Watchdog Over the Public's Interests.
X. No Member Of Congress Shall Hold A Term Of Office Beyond Ten Years, Nor Shall Any Member of Congress Be Paid Any Form of Compensation Other Than Money, Nor Shall Such Compensation Exceed the Salary of An Average Income Earner Within the United States of America.
XI. No Member Of The Judiciary Shall Hold a Term of Office Beyond Twenty Years.
XII. The War On Drugs Shall End, All Drugs Shall Be Made Legal And Regulated And The Money Saved On Our Prison System Shall Be Invested In Less Costly Addiction Counseling And Rehabilitation Services.
XIII. No War Or Military Engagement Shall Endure More Than Five Years Unless Such War Or Engagement Is Fought On American Soil Or Such War Or Engagement Is Approved By a Direct Democratic Majority Vote Of The American People.
XIV. Our Veterans Shall Be Cared For.
XV. There Shall Be Implemented A Universal Health Care System, Which Public System Shall Be Offered Free For All Citizens And Shall Be Funded Through Public Funds, With Private Health Care and Insurance Competing Therewith.
Each point should be set as an issue.
eg,,,XIV caring for Veterans..could be posted as: Establish comprehensive care program for veterans..then in the body, list what you think it should cover.
Supporters will vote it up as an important issue, then it becomes an Identified Issue seeking solutions.
We can all suggest solutions. We vote the solutions...till we develop policy as Public Manadate.
Any elected person does not respect the mandateby putting into law or policy........ gets...Voter Recall
It is not simple quick, it is simply Direct Democracy..and requires us all to do some work..
The system of how issues/solutions are handled can be changed...again. propose an Issue.....come up with a solution
What is there for structure, is our groups best first format. It can be improved over time.
We are, or course, ready to hand control to a Board...please spread the word.
Of all the open source software systems, we picked Drupal as it the most developed and has the largest community of active developers.
This is more than just posting in a forum...it takes effort to to follow up a Issue.
We have a Republic, We have a Constitution. Direct Democracy strengthens both.
We observed what happened in Ohio 2004, and learned from court testimony that it was not hacked, it was built in from start to be rigged.
watch testimony in court here and note what the programmer says is the only way to protect
The system also generates time stamped printable ballot receipts.
By using Open Source Software, we invite, students, coders, everyone to monitor and safeguard the code.
Board members and Volunteers are now being requested.
Okay, thanks. I'll create separate issues.
cool! kind of reminds me of you know who (r. lawl)
http://knockknockrevolution.tumblr.com/post/11573860774/why-occupy-wall-street-flyers - help convince people to become occupiers by using these talking points!
XXX. Legalize Prostitution.
Why not, lets post this as a very real issue, drive it up as a confirmed issue by voting on it...it then gets set open for solutions.
The best solution will get the votes, and it now becomes the public Mandate, ready to become law.
This is how we take over...and no blood gets spilled.
This will beat the bankers and every dirty politician.
and remember, you can Nominate yourself for office.
Direct Democracy at www.uponlocal.com is here now
Also, as a manifest for ourselves: no more needless borrowing!
Not even by buying something in instalments.
I agree to that. :)
thanks :)
lThese are very very well developed.
Lets put this up for debate on the Direct Democracy system and vote on it use the issues solutions process form to get each item started

Okay. Should each be a separate recommendation?
