I find it interesting, though not surprising, that although this movement is billed as a fight for liberty and freedom, certain members are quick to try to censor people with differing opinions by dissuading other members from listening to them.

I imagine you're in favor of a socialist model as your apple certainly didn't fall far from the tree. Look through history at any example of a socialist model and you will find that the first step is to censor differing opinions and establish power through control of information. Socialism, in the guise of power to the people, in fact centralizes power in a few.

I think you would benefit from reading a book typically saved for sixth graders, Animal Farm. Once you're done with that, take a few history and economics classes.

This website just is the de facto center of the movement, and happens to have its own rules. Someone on IRC was mentioning starting a new site with different rules and subforums and a wiki, but that's all I've heard about it.

I agree it is imperfect - IRC is not a democracy, and the forums are internet forums with all their negatives. The movement has blown up numbers wise and suffers from growing pains.

Every ones tired of the fear mongering of socialist beliefs. Their point of view has many great things. Ask anything about Socialism and leave out the name that has been used to scare people away most would agree. its about fairness. And don't say Joseph Stalin was one, he was a dictator. Socialism may not be rite for America, but the fear mongering against social security, medicare, & poor helping programs is ridiculous!

Are posts being deleted? are users being banned from the forums? people are free to post what they want, this does not mean the community will not call them like they see them.

Freedom of speech allows you to say what you wish, it does not absolve you of the consequences of using that freedom or force others to support your ideas.
