We just need writers to develop the idea. (just thought of it...im on it).

(ad lingo makes sense here)

ASSUMPTION: Speculators would agree to a fee if it neutralized the inherent aggregate(d) moral problems with speculation. (and there was a magic button that they could all push when they are in their humanistic reveries.)

INSIGHT: 1% On Speculation is that magic button.

what? capital gains is 30 or 35% already - do a little research after you come up with an idea

Roosevelt had no problem with putting a 90% tax on the earnings of the 1%.

you cant tax the people who you willing give your tax dollars to. they wrote the book. they have all the power and cannot be regulated. there is no law or amendment that requires any person to pay fed income tax. all that money goes directly into the pocket of the owners of the fed. not into the economy or to help the country. Our ignorance created this wealth gap. we have been willingly giving up our money to the people who create the money for 100yrs and we dont have to. dont believe me look it up.

How will this end the corruption?

we evolve. and until we do, we unite and have realistic goals.

Give OWS some time. We might actually come up with a solution :)

how about a requirement that a speculator must be able to show they can take delivery of a given commodity. i.e. a warehouse, a super-tanker ect. this would have largely prevented the enron debacle

it seems hard to articulate in a piece of populist legislation...there is a movement going on....it needs a demand.

Well, a 5% tax on speculation and 100% margin would be better! AND no bail-outs if you fail.

i think we have to focus group it. i do think it could be 2%. but 5% is waayy too much.

Demand 5% - maybe the government will agree to 2, if you make a reasonable demand on unreasonable crooks, they will blow you away.
