If you're hoping that Americans will support Anarchism or Communism you're wasting your time.

It was radicals, socialist and anarchist, that made it possible for women to vote, promoted the use of prophylactics, provided you with the 8 hour day, and the weekend, wrote the constitution, worked towards making sure you had clean air to breathe and drinking water and the list goes on.

Not to mention, remember when those radicals said it might be a good idea to get rid of a foreign monarchy?

What could be more American than being a radical?

Yes, unfortunatly that's the other side of the coin...

FYI This site was created by radicals.

I've got two things to say to this.

  1. Taken at face value, it's just a statement of truth. Americans will, indeed, never support Communism or anarchism. But!

  2. We need the radicals. Their youthful intensity, idealism and utopianism are almost certainly, and sadly, bound to turn into cynicism and dissapoinment down the road (or perhaps to morph into wiser and more mature views); but they serve as the shock troops of our movement. Who else is willing to risk arrest, or to sleep on concrete?

Expect that they're pretty much stopping everyone from getting anything done.

Its been 1 month and there is still no demands to accommodate them.

Get real man.

A month ago, the national conversation was dominated by the agenda of Mitch McConnell, Grover Norquist and Wall Street. Our proposals weren't even on the radar of acceptable discourse.

The kids kicked in the door and started the pendulum swing back to sanity and only a month later you're complaining that they haven't gotten their act together.

I've been complaining about the lack of demands since the beginning <_<

The group that organized this..Adbusters is from Canada. They are openly anti-capitalists. They started OWS.

However I see that the movement has attracted more then the anti-capitalists crowd. I'm not sure they counted on that. Now the people are taking notice of the movement. I am not surprised to see other political types try and step in. When they unleash the “real” agenda, I think most PEOPLE involved in this movement will recognize that. I have witnessed the awakening of many people, who came here for information.

Well maybe you should have made it clear before people joined you to get arrested and sleep on the streets >:(

It's not my movement. I do not claim to be associated. I am here to help point people towards facts, and truth. As I just have, when I saw this post. It is not my fault somebody does not do any research before they get involved with something.

What about the American Nazi Party that has lent their support why didn't you aks them to leave??? Pehaps that's okay with you.

The term radical is extremely vague and ambiguous.

[-] 1 points by ronimacarroni (1089) 13 years ago

Ok then, let say radical means anything that would require the constitution to become void.
