Um, the OWS movement is 100% about politics. Not about either side, but about changing the system and the influence that the 1% have on that system.
Ron Paul is NOT a Republican candidate. He is a third party (Libertarian) candidate, and his ability to piggy back on a major party without having to change his principles, is a game changer. I'm not saying Ron Paul is the best person for the job. He isn't. But within what the system is currently offering us, he is by far the best choice. If he were elected, it would crumble the current political establishment. This is a good thing.
In short, his being elected would show that we are able to go beyond the two party options. This in itself would remove much of the influence the 1% currently holds.
This thread, at least in my opinion, is not about co-opting. It is about an individual IN THIS MOVEMENT expressing his opinion. Who the fuck are you to say he is not allowed to do that?

Who cares? How is this related to the Occupy Movement? How is Ron Paul relevant to the Occupy Movement? Don't they have forums at ronpaul.com or whatever that you can go post this stuff on? I'm so sick and tired of the Republicans and the Democrats keep trying to make the Occupy Movement their own, after they both bashed it when it first started on evey dem/rep owned media (that by the way covers ALL of the mainstrewam media, they're all either red or blue).
I have a sneaking suspicion that MOST of this country does not vote rep or dem because they agree tottaly with the rep or dem agenda, but becuase there are no other candidates to choose from, so they settle for the one that sounds least crappy, or they are so easily impressed and taken by the moving words of a certain democrat we know, so they think they're democrats, and yet Clinton (Dem) and gang set the stage for the economic meltdown years before, and Bush (Rep) furthered it, then Obama (Dem) continued the Bushisms after convincing all of us that he wanted to help people, he didn't mention which people, becuase the only people Obama has helped with the policies that he has put forth so far are giant banks and corporations from Monsanto, to JP Morgan Chase to the war machines all over the world making destruction even by remote control with drones. OCCUPY IS NOT SUPPORTING ANY POLITICAL PARTY OR CANDIDATES, so please cut it out.
i was making a point about how politics is controlled not about this candidate.
the news blackout on non-approved candidates is laughable in a so called democracy
