These questions need to be asked of Mayor Billionberg of New York City**1)Mr.Mayor-can you provide any credible proof that the risk of the NYC water supply becoming contaminated by fracking in the section of the Marcellus shale which is located in the Southern Tier of New York State is absolutely zero?2)Mr.Mayor-if the risk to the city's water supply is greater than zero, what measures do you intend to take to make sure that fracking in the Southern Tier is permanantly banned?3)In the event of a determination that there is no risk and fracking in the Southern Tier goes forward and it turns out that the city's water supply becomes contaminated anyway,do you have any kind of plan for what the city will do in response to a contaminated water supply?4)Do you and your rich friends have enough clout in Albany to stop the gas industry from fracking in the Southern Tier if the risk to the water supply of New York City is above absolutely zero?5)Do you even agree that a risk above absolute zero is completely unacceptable?
Ha! All very good serious questions. The thing is, we already know the answers! Question #4 is the most interesting though. I'd give anything to see his face, when asked if he has enough power to stop it. He's an obscenely wealthy puppet....but he's still a puppet to the ruling elite.
Good Post
"Billionberg"----That is Good
Bloomberg only answers hard questions in court, where as often as not he gets his ass handed to him.
I really would like to know if there is any kind of plan for what is to be done in the event that the water supply of the city becomes contaminated.I think the plan probably is that test results proving contamination would first be supressed. Then, when they somehow get leaked out to the public, all kinds of bogus experts would be found to announce that the levels of contamination actually are safe;people would be able to avoid drinking and cooking with contaminated water-but they would still have to bathe in it,and bathing in contaminated water is a very effective way for people to be poisoned. Also, restaurants would be forced to cook and wash dishes with contaminated water. The wealthy New Yorkers would be obliged to spend considerable amounts of money to install water purification systems in their homes or else install tanks and pay to have the tanks filled by trucks. The streets of the city would be clogged with water trucks if installing tanks became popular,as it probably would because I think it would be cheaper than installing decontamination units. The whole thing is a nightmare scenario, and if Billionberg and his Billionaire Buddies are worth anything at all, they will band together,go to Albany and tell Cuomo he is out on his ass if he doesn't place a moratorium on fracking statewide.I maintain that any risk to the city's water supply from fracking that is above absolute zero is entirely unacceptable and not even to be considered for even 1 second.
I can't dispute anything you've said here. It is frightful.
It seems to me that there are 2 things that need to be done:for one,the people of the city need to demand that an independant study be undertaken to determine the exact nature of the threat and what kind of risk is involved. If the risk is above absolute zero, the people need to demand that the Mayor go to Albany and expose the Governor to a full-on Billionaire Hissy Fit and FORCE a moratorium on fracking at least in the Southern Tier. The city also needs a plan about what to do in the event that the water supply is contaminated.I have heard that fracking waste water cannot be decontaminated, but nobody even knows whether or not water that is tainted by fracking waste water can be decontaminated. The implications of a contaminated water supply hardly even bear thinking about-all those hotels! All those hospitals! What about the zoo?Bloomberg is not the worst Billionaire on earth;I know there is a real New Yorker somewhere inside of him-and ALL New Yorkers love New York City-I was born there, and I lived there for a long time.I was appalled by what Christy Whitman did to New York City and I would really be heartbroken if it happens again. We need to get in front this time, and get these studies done so people can make informed decisions and create workable plans in the event that the unthinkable happens.
Loving New york means differerent things to different people. To the younger billionaire pre political Bloomberg New York was a happy hunting ground of young models and golddiggers of various types who he could upend and enjoy, as well as fine dining and extra good weed.
To me it's a place where I can eke out a living driving a taxi and thanking God i live in a public housing apartment I can afford.
Yes-I have heard about the exploits of Billionberg et. al.-I hope you pick me up in your cab next time I come to the city because even though I'm poor,I always make sure I have enough money to give gigantic tips to drivers because guys like you are totally the best.
I'm the old guy with the beard and I probably am listening to NPR, BAI or WSUV. You, for good conversation, might qualify for a free ride (as long as it's not too far).
