Wait a minute - aren't sanctions meant to hurt the other guy?
Huh.

Sanctions - not as easy as arming for peace? Putin? Anyone?
Interesting to see how this works out.

Interesting? Sure - that is one way to put it. I see it as pouring fuel onto the fire of existing armed conflicts in the middle east - Asia and Europe. Escalating hostilities between nations near and far. And the MIC just howls in glee.
Sanctions just like arming for peace.
Hurts who?
All too often - Just The Innocent Populations!
i think i would cut out the all too often part. one thing is that in south africa those who would get hurt were calling for them where in places like cuba they are not! the whole mess in the ukraine is a creation of the west (well mostly anyway - ukraine has it's own problems to be sure). our "leaders" make putin look like a real leader
what else can proruusian mean but ignore the problem as a ukraine issue
not sure what you mean - this is a huge problem but easily solved. first the west must stop trying to push nato closer to russia. then we might stop supporting nazis in ukraine
There are sanctions that can hurt a government ( it's powers that be ) and not necessarily hurt the population of the government/country. So I went with " All Too Often ". BTW -> Putin = no better than nuttersyahoo or OhBummer or asshat or or or or or ......................
agreed on sanctions but not so much on putin. he has not inflamed the crisis there - if anything he is the voice of reason. have you read stephen cohen on that subject? i am not saying here that putin is a great democrat or free speech advocate just that he is more responsible and reasonable in world affairs than our creeps
