Forum Post: Publicly funded elections is the key! Take back the vote!

• If you have a cancer that has spread to many parts of your body. You don't spend all your time worrying about your liver or your kidneys, you focus on killing the cancer. You can spend all the time you want trying to fix an individual organ, but unless you get rid of the cancer. Eventually you will fail. This is much like the current problems in our government. You can try to solve the problem in of education, environment, the economy, regulating the financial markets etc.. But until you address the systemic problems that keep us from addressing these big problems all your efforts will be in vain. And though as Americans we can not agree on much in these days, I think the one thing the vast majority of us across the political spectrum can agree on is: That we need to get money out of politics! It should be one person one vote not one dollar one vote! If we want to address the problems of the 99% we need to create a government that serves us, not corporate power. I believe the only way to do this is to have publicly funded elections.
