Publicly-owned banks work as intended. Colonial America had them for 25 years. Tax and inflation-free prosperity followed. Money created produced economic growth. It ended when Bank of England scoundrels regained control. Public banks do not have to provide profits to shareholders or executives.
The North Dakota Example:
US's only public banking state.
Has the nation's lowest unemployment rate.
Reduces or eliminates federal, state and local debt.
Minimizes taxes, maximizes economic growth and job creation.
Makes universal healthcare and free education to the highest level possible.
Allows vital infrastructure to be rebuilt, protecting against disaster.
Secures pensions, savings and investments

I don't think anybody disagrees - we should eliminate the privately owned Federal Reserve.
